Does Pinan set focus on grappling & throwing (Which is hard to understand for striking style) ?

There’s some grappling in just any traditional martial arts form, some tend to lean more on striking than others. The first two Pinan forms seem to deal more with striking and limb control (plus a few takedowns) but the third one is more centred on grappling than the first two (all of this is my subjective opinion). The second half of the third form is almost only throwing (with a strike or two to set them up), the opening is also very grappling oriented, and the mid part shows you a throw and how to deal with an arm at if you catch it too late.

What was your reference for learning this form?

Multiple references, so it’s how I practise it, not a set style. It is fairly close to Chung Do Kwan version but not identical.

@@traditionaltaekwondoramblings this is late but it look like you did one that is closer to the shotokan version. The Tang Soo Do one has crescent kick do the middle.
