Seth as a point of reference if you had a zero lift lock like that or Yale this would mean using an epg would also be a futile exercise would i be right in saying this the blade of the epg would only hit the prominent pins and not hit the zero lift cause it's below would that be the case and will done great video but your knowledge would be appreciated in this one. 👍
@FortressLocksmithsАй бұрын
@@paulonutella they can EPG but do like to put up a fight, that pin just needs tickling

Interesting thanks Seth and yes you are a renegade it's the only way to progress by trial and error and you are absolutely right with your current obsession with bump keys which have been around for 100 years but I'm sure you'll know the history better than me but obviously as locks evolve techniques need to as well Seth Hall of Fame like Hollywood Stars in the concrete need a locksmith hall of Fame 👍

That chart isn’t what a zero lift pin is. A zero lift pin is a pin that if touched, traps on the shear line. If in the case of this Q 1 star you say there is a space with no resistance then it’s like the pin isn’t there so why won’t the lock open with normal bump keys?
@FortressLocksmithsАй бұрын
@@Locksport9872 because if you watched the video, you’ll see exactly why the lock won’t bump because I show what a zero lift pin looks like 👍🏻
@Locksport9872Ай бұрын
@ yeah I know in this lock the zero pin still has to be touched slightly to the shear line but if that’s the case then with your bump key and normal cut bump keys the vibration to move that pin down slightly will still occur regardless of
@FortressLocksmithsАй бұрын
@ negative sir, you can keep at this all day with a regular bump key, but it won’t open BUT I’m always open to exploration, so if you can do a vid showing this I shall be suitably impressed 🫡
@Locksport9872Ай бұрын
@ I’m not knocking your tools at all. I’m just saying that that so called zero pin still has to be moved to the shear line slightly so it’s an anti bump feature not a zero pin. It’s a great idea you have come up with to allow it to be touched along with the over cuts
@Locksport9872Ай бұрын
@ I’m sure that if the rest of the key was cut to the zero pin cut that the locks would still bump with no pull back on key and your washer set up
