The gun community is an interesting place having grown up in it. I happen to be lgbtq, and have really grown alienated from it as I learned more about myself. The right to arm ourselves has been lumped with conservative social mores for a long time now, and I personally think it only serves to harm our cause. I do enjoy this channel, it is similar to inrange in that you specifically speak out about the gun communities insularity. Going against that ingrained norm is hard, and I really respect it.

Thanks for the kind words, and for taking the time to share your thoughts! Also, I agree, the gun community has done tremendous damage to gun rights. The right to defend one's person is a civil right, but neither side views it that way. And I'm completely baffled by the community's apparent intense need to turn away those who would be allies for gun rights, but aren't regular white guys. I take this as proof that the gun community doesn't actually want expanded gun rights. Instead, these guys want the present social conflict, factionalization, and isolation, to continue. What do you think? Has that been your experience as well, and have you faced any discrimination from other folks within the gun community?

@@thegunpenguin My experiences have been fairly negative in what I'd consider the "mainstream" gun culture. Gun shops, particularly in my area, are a little intimidating to enter. They almost all have displays supporting extreme right wing politics. I have no issue with political displays in a business, but a gun store with conservative evangelical propaganda plastered all over is not a particularly accepting place for a trans person. I've chosen to stop going to any gun shops for the time being for reasons of safety and mental health. I have always tried to stay under the radar, and have overheard a lot of bigoted things while at gun shows or shops. I have a handful of firearms at the moment and do not plan to make any more purchases until I find a place I can go to without concerns over being "recognized" as a trans woman. I don't think I'd be harmed or anything, but the alienation is not worth it for me. I can only imagine how it'd be for someone who did not grow up around guns and is unfamiliar with the less savory parts of American gun culture.

@@skjporkchop Your unwillingness to put up with that bullshit is entirely understandable, and you should never have to deal with it in the first place. Consistently, the actions of the gun community indicate exclusion and a preference for the status quo. I own a gun store, and I work hard to ensure that no one has that sort of experience.

personally, i'd like to see fixed barrel, gas operated/delayed handguns. better accuracy from a fixed barrel, and potentially lower recoil from a gas system vs. browning action would be a nice improvement, especially with calibers like 7.5FK and 5.7x28. plus, lower wear on optics, if you can have a fixed barrel shroud instead of a reciprocating slide.

I'd like to see that too!

Love my P365, but no micro will come close to 92xF or G34. They are superior in that compact to full-size. Keep up the good content.

You like da/sa and Beretta, do you have any thoughts on the Px4?
@thegunpenguin2 жыл бұрын
I like it! I have a Cougar, and the rotating barrel definitely makes for a mild recoil impulse -- perhaps even milder than the falling-block Berettas. The PX4 requires a bit of tweaking to bring it into 2021, but after you do the work, it's excellent!

The ideal govt/society model (imo) would be... The married lesbian couple protects their non gmo, unregulated cannabis crop with claymore mines, full auto box fed M249 SAWs, and select fire M4s they bought at the locally owned hardware store with cash money. They live next door to the Baptist minister who refused to marry them, but gives them a great deal on his hand loads, and in return they provide him with pain relief for his arthritis. The ministers wife owns a bakery, and would not bake them a wedding cake. The couple does not shop at her establishment, and takes their business elsewhere, and..although they cant agree on everything..they watch each other's backs, and when both couples got wind of corrupt, parasitic govt officials attempting to expand the govt's power into their lives, they united in order to shut that shit down before it started. Because..freedom.
