I'm a 1911 person so I found myself not wanting to shoot my Glocks because of the triggers on them. When this new Glock trigger came out I bought four of them for my Gen 5 Glocks. I love it, now 3.5 lbs. trigger I find myself shooting and carrying my Glocks much more. Great tutorial on the performance trigger.

What I appreciate with the Performance Trigger is the very minimal movement once the trigger breaks. Plus if I ever have to use the firearm for personal defense the fact it’s an OEM Glock trigger is comforting. Having an aftermarket trigger from another manufacturer could very easily trip you up in court.

lmfao no it could not "trip you up in court". if it could this would be just as bad. "my good people of the jury this person installed an extremely dangerous COMPETITION TRIGGER to make the weapon easier to kill people with". Stop spreading fudd lore

I have never had a problem with any stock Glock trigger, as they do what they're supposed to. Never meant to be a target/competition trigger, but great self-defense combat reliable trigger. I also think the reset is the best of all the polymer plastic strikers, not the shortest, but strongest most tactile, and as you say the way it snaps back. I notice a lot of these aftermarket Glock triggers that my shooting buddies put on, make that great stock reset a little mushy.

The standard Glock trigger is great. I traded a 320c for a G19 but I had to ask the guy for all the OEM parts and he thought I was crazy. Never felt like I needed anything extra and it was a excellent gun till I sold it. If I get a Glock again I would only get a striker control device, trijicon HDs, and leave everything else stock. Great video TGP!

Really enjoyed this video, as you make some excellent points. I especially like the stock Glock gen 3 triggers, as I love the very hard wall with virtually no movement (creep) before crisp break, and a very strong tactile reset. My experience has been similar to yours, when it comes to shooting polymer plastic strikers. I don't see as much of a difference as some people do, whether it's my Walther PDP, CZP10, Springfield XD40, Sig P320 or Canik. I basically shoot them all the same, as I also prefer my Beretta 92FS or Sig P229 to shoot.

I totally relate to the vntage Strat analogy, being a former musician myself. When I first got my G17 I bought some parts to "upgrade" including a lighter trigger doohicky. The Houge overgrip is good for my long fingers, as is the extended takedown catch. After one range session where the gun fired when I wasn't ready, I went home and reinstalled the stock item immediatly. As you say, just get another guitar for the different need, should you have one. More fun that way.

This is the first Glock trigger that adresse the biggest problem with the OEM part: the mushiness, not the weight. It was mechanically impossible for aftermarket triggers to accomplished this, as all they could do is change surface angles and materials. Adding a physical sear to the mechanism put the Glock Performance Center in another category.

@@thegunpenguin Btw, used to setup/repair guitars for 8 years in an Amsterdam shop and share your feelings on tweaking things too far. Tried everything I wanted and played so many, that you realize that certain guitars just need to do the thing they are great at. Floyd rose on a Strat is definitely cursed, hope all the tiny hex screws weren't mangled by some ham-fisted idiot with the wrong hex key. Did make my first cheap Stagg strat into a pseudo baritone guitar once just for fun, had to drill out the machine heads for the hilariously thicc bass strings and filed the saddles to make them fit haha (made a new nut) Gotta have some fun and see how far you can go sometimes Also stopped seeing guitars as some sort of magical objects, they are just tools and you gotta find one that does the thing you want Anyways, could go on for hours. If you ever want to talk guitars hit me up lol Cheers! Vera

@@VeraTR909 I'm always down for guitar talk! Always! And it's super cool that you've worked in the industry! Luthiers is a rarer and rarer job each year. I've filmed some luthiery content for the channel but I'm afraid no one would watch it. I view something like a Stagg as an ideal platform for mods. You get to test out new stuff, and if you don't like the experiment, you're not out all the money, but it's still a great guitar. Generally, it seems like, if you're going to convert a guitar into something wildly different, there's already a cheaper guitar that's configured exactly the way you need, and it tends to work better. That 1970 Strat that had been routed never stayed in tune, even with the Floyd. It would've been better for him to just buy a Charvel or something.

I’ve been shooting Glocks for years. I’ve had no problems with the factor stock trigger. Regardless I bought the performance trigger and stuck it in a G19. It works just fine. If a person is new to Glocks I wouldn’t recommend them shooting with the performance trigger until they get use to the factory trigger just due to the fact that it is a lot litter trigger pull.

I have a G19X w/ the stock upper & the $180 Complete SW4 Gatormouth cut Dagger Upper. I installed an OW Precision flat TAC trigger, Master trigger spring kit, 3lb black yikes connector, polished everything, a 15lb steel recoil spring & with the Dagger Upper on? I get a very short & extremely smooth 2.7lb pull w/ a very short forced reset. If I put the stock upper back on? I get a gritty long 5lb pull. So I'm running the Dagger Upper w/ the HE "elite" 407c x2 green 2moa dot.

Been shooting standard Glock triggers reliably forever; however, have to admit the new trigger package feels much better than stock. More enjoyable for sure. My take, I prefer an OEM package over all the aftermarket shit that is out there, especially for EDC. At the end of the day, I’d you want something lighter and better than the Glock then go buy that gun. I agree with letting Glock’s be Glock’s…

Hi! Congratulations on your G19! This is just the perspective of one internet weirdo, but I'd recommend learning the stock trigger first, for a variety of reasons. If you've purchased the gun for defense, the performance trigger will be a bit light for a new gun owner. Under duress, our performance drops considerably, a very light trigger could be a potential danger without practice and instruction. The rebuttal will be, "But your finger shouldn't be on the trigger until you intend to fire." Yes, that's true, but who knows what your brain will do when in a very stressful situation, and you don't have decades of experience to fall back on. Past that, the stock trigger won't hinder your performance. I'm not a believer that the Glock is the greatest handgun design since the dawn of time, sheer perfection in a metal and plastic wrapper. But, Glocks are very well-designed, and the stock trigger's perceived negative qualities can just as easily be considered positive ones, especially for a new gun owner. You'd also be learning to use the most common, or one of the most common, trigger systems around. Even if you never intend to fully master the stock Glock trigger, it never hurts to be gun omnivorous, and learn them all. More subjectively, I think the stock trigger is quite nice once broken in. I rarely respond to comments because I'm just some KZbin idiot with little to offer, but I hope that helps all the same! Lastly, I'd recommend getting a second and third opinion, just to be safe.
