Just so you know there is an ADAT feature card available for talking to light pipe hardware (the old ADAT blackfaces, and modern high end digital daw interfaces). Theres usually one or two up on Ebay and Reverb.

Would you happen to know if the Alesis lx20 adat recorders are compatible with a Yamaha O2r that has the following interfaces ---optical CD-8 AT and a tascam TDIF-1 ?

I have the 02R and an HD24. I cannot get the two set up to communicate properly. So far I can only record plugging into the HD24. I have spent countless hours with the routing to no avail. I cannot get a signal to the HD24 by plugging into the 02R. I have three adat cards in the 02r in slots 1,3 and 4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am getting to the point where I am going to trash this board and start from scratch.

@@OldMatesBackyardTech will do, I have another gent working on it also. I have made some progress. I was able to plug into the mic in on channel 5 and get it to come out on 17 on the HD14. I saved the settings in a test scene memory so I can go back and see how it is set. I must have spent over thirty hours trying to get this straightened out through different combinations of settings and am a bit burnt out . It is not the equipment, I am sure it is a routing problem by the operator. I can't mention who that is lol. Thanx

Hi! Is it possible to record more than 24 channel in realtime live with the cd-8 cards? or is the tape channels 1 to 16 and flip function just for playing back a mix from a daw after recording? i've been trying for days with no luck, but Thanks for this great video!

@@OldMatesBackyardTech Have you seen the prices on these go dramatically down? Do ppl assume these are useless? I fantasize about getting this one but I´d like to know what interface card and cable you are talking about in order to connect this to a Windows 1o PC. Awesome videos.

Hmm. Yes and no. If you have Protools and the more modern V2 firmware, then the answer is yes. For other daws it seems to be a bit more complicated. You can map things to midi controls, and I believe there is full support for MTC and MMC so you'll get a BIT of control. but it wont be seemless like on something like a Mackie Contol Unit or one of its immitators (Ie the behringer BCF2000)
