I have the P Line Explore (12 speed), which is the same system as on the T Line and it is basically the same 4 speed you know and love with a triple chainring (but at the back). The extra range is great, especially for the hills although if you are going up into the mountains you probably still want to put on a smaller chainring to get up those 15-20% climbs. The top end is a bit too tall in my opinion though to be usable most of the time unless you are someone pushing for speed all the time. It shifts well but if you are only in a relatively flat city you can definitely get by with a 4 speed - most of my riding is with the hub in gear 2 (1:1). Thanks for the videos!!

I like the 4 speeds of my p line for my urban use.

12Speed shifting is the same as 6 speed. So on P or T line 12 speed, it has the hub shifter

I’ve tried 12 T Line at Brompton Junction Covent Garden, it is not as comfortable as 4 speed to ride in the city of London, it’s noisy, more heavy, but it FAST.

I like Brommie Plus and would upgrade using their parts. They are responsive to emails as well so please email them if you have any specific questions on your build.

As an owner of a now weighing much less than 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton (Below 9 kilo!), I honestly didn't know for hat use I had the low 3 gears of my 6? Till I met a steep serpentine road and had to walk on top, going up. A 12 speed has a little on top and a little extra in the bottom, but honestly why? The speed range of a Brompton hardly need 12 steps, so I'm sure I would find it a waste of time and too much changing gears during that? I may be wrong of course, but I have no intention of trying, except a double ring in front, maybe, also giving 12 gears. I have a 33 speed Mtb on which I select the area in front, for its terrain, before riding. Finn. Denmark

@@user-or9rm3gq4l Every bolt, nut and disc, Joseph Kuosac headset, front axle, seat post, bolt and wedge holding the fork, are from titanium/alu wedge (I looked for a Ti Wedge). Handlebar and the clamps on my mudguards, a sligthly padded Selle Seat (titanium seat clamp) are from carbon. I haven't changed my Stem post to titanium (which would give a - little extra), as I can't find a - painted version, and I like my bike to still look like a fully Original, Black Version, Flame Painted Superlight, as when bought in 2019! And still with 6 gears, it has cost much less than a - mostly similar 4 speed T-line, with mudguards also, of course! I think they also reach close to 9 kilo? Finn. Denmark 😄

I have added a full set ,"frame protection plates" (Sadly still a weak point on any Brompton) and leather on my frame and stem post, as I have leather grips with secured ends, and a Brompton Print. It is a Brompton! Finn

@@user-or9rm3gq4l I have changed near all loose parts, bolts, nuts, seat post, axle in front and discs to titanium, as the handlebar and clamps on my mudguards to carbon. I only miss the stem post for now, as the gain against the cost aren't worth it! But when I'm able to get one painted in Flame Colour, I may change that also. I like my bike to look standard! Finn
