Lindsey Moore I need advice.. I have really bad ETD and have tried everything including etube ballooon dilation and it made things much worse so my etube doesn't function at all.. no fluid though. My ent suggests a tube but I had a myringotomy and I hated how my hearing changed.. I felt deaf but wasn't deaf, ear burning, felt like I needed to pop my ear a lot and I always woke up feeling deaf.. it was really weird. Not sure what to do because my ear gets clogged and stuck and can't drive anywhere without pain. What should I do?

***** um I don't know too much about what is happening with u but one of my doctors said that they said that they think t tubes are better for me so maybe they would be better for you and I'm supposed to have a choleseatoma surgery and I don't know how that will turn out we already tried to do it once but there were breathing tube problems and they couldn't do it but anyways I hoped I at least helped u a little and maybe u could help me too

Would eartube help with chronic mucus of the nose because of the fluid drainage?

Possibly. Anything attached to the eustacean tube (throat, nose, that kind of stuff) could cause a blockage in the middle ear, which leads to ear infections and so on.

My daughter is getting an adenoidectomy and ear tubes put in. She’s only 7 but has hearing loss because of fluid from allergies. I’m worried about her immune system. Is the adenoid removal worth the risks she may face in the future? This is such a scary time to have a weakened immune system.

Is it always necessary to do bothT&A? My 3yr old is having Adenoidectomy with tubes for sleep issues- the doctor doesn’t recommend tonsillectomy at this age.

What happens when you get in and a child's anatomy is different? My son will go for tubes at Vidant Medical Center on the 22nd. He has only ever had one infection in his whole life, he's 3. He keeps failing the hearing exam. He is non-verbal autistic. We recently got back genetic results for his older brother and could have Joubert Syndrome. Both boys at this point have been diagnosed with non-verbal Autism. I'm scared that they will take him back and find his middle ear anatomy is different. I'm also scared about anesthesia, their uncle lacks the enzyme cholinesterase (sp?) So they have it written on his chart of a family history.

My son does not like breathing in the anesthesia. Is there any other options for anesthization

talk to the person who will handle your sons anesthesia and ask the person if there is something better for your son that does not like breathing in the anesthesia I hope this will help you in your sons surgical journey

There shouldn’t usually be pain afterwards but occasionally there might be and your hearing could get much louder and clearer immediately after surgery

My 1 year old daughter is getting surgery for her ear tubes really soon . Im having doubts if i should let her have ear tubes or not cause ive heard it hurts. My parents are telling me to not get ear tubes for my baby cause it’s painful during and after. Is that true ? Anybody ?
