Mark, in my opinion, the discussion at the beginning is totally unnecessary. Maybe these comments are genuine for now, maybe. But the more you react, pay attention, and give them screen time, the more complete trolls will appear with similar comments-just to trigger you, see themselves on the screen, and eat popcorn. Don't get triggered. All mature internet users see through this, no worries

Agree with the commenter. It is a very common boomer reaction on the internet to feed the trolls. Internet culture does not work like that. By reacting, you show you care, which means they won. And you made me waste 5 minutes of my life talking about a topic i have 0 interest in. Mark, you are one of the best finance youtubers, and a very reasonable man. Please pay attention to this comment thread.

Great video. I hope you continue going "out of your lane" - you offer this content for free and have every right to share your informed opinions. Too many people can't handle anything they don't like or don't agree with anymore. I appreciate hearing the 80% of things that I agree with you on (which often is not the accepted mainstream narrative) and I also appreciate hearing the 20% of things that I do not agree with you on since it makes me stop to think and question my position on it. The wonderful thing about Finance and Markets is that they encompass geopolitics, economics, science, arts, and everything in between. I tune in for intelligent "conversation" that is not easy for me to find in day-to-day life anymore.

Thanks Mark for making such great videos. I have a couple of questions...1. Why do economies like US, UK and EU want a target inflation rate of 2%. 2. What is the significance of the US non farm payrolls within the US economy.

Wood framing is fine, you need a fire barrier such as concrete board siding and metal clad roofing. Also these new smart meters are defective and caused alot of the electeical fires

With respect to margin (collateral) requirements. One component is the intraday variation risk - this one does not need to be so high due to a quick & easy intraday liquidation. But another component is the overnight risk - this one needs to account for all kinds of dramatic developments outside of trading hours, because it is impossible to liquidate a position ASAP. Only in 24/7 markets such as BTC or FX can you have near zero margin requirements (presuming "instantaneous" liquidation at any time, which is still rather ambitious, IMO).

hey Mark, I sent you reply on the last video early today. I understand your point on the labels of misinformation/disinformation being handled by people who are not worthy of wielding those labels and I think you are right in your assertion, however I think it's also a fair assessment to be skeptical of the genuine intent of the CIA releasing a controversial statement like this (given that lack of consensus yet from the intelligence community at large) given the political convenience of the attitudes the new administration holds towards China

I likedd the first part of the discussion. I am in favour of showing people that you cannot just post nonsense online without being called on it. Sorry you have to endure these idiots professor. Appreciate your videos and while the first section isn't about learning about the market, its actually a good lesson on how to deal with some things in the real world.

Mark, I just want to say that as this channel grows-and it will, because it provides truly valuable insights-trolls will inevitably show up. These people exist, and some genuinely enjoy trolling. I used to know someone in my own circle who does it. Even if they believe what’s being said, they still troll (not referring to this channel specifically, but in general) simply because they find amusement in it. That’s why I believe their words shouldn’t be taken seriously. Their goal is neither to learn through discussion nor to defend their own views; it’s simply to provoke and irritate. Please don’t let them get to you. I also wanted to touch on something you mentioned before. Yes, it's not easy to give weight to every comment because you never truly know who's behind the screen. However, a person's level often becomes clear through their writing. Just look at the way they express themselves. There’s a saying in my language: 'Form takes precedence over substance.' I think it’s highly relevant here.

EV's are $$$hit....Goodluck driving in Saskatchewan in the winters.....Ive seen them and the windows are fogged or they are left on the side of the road waiting a toe truck because their distance on a charge is reduced to less than half. Their cost per kilometer is double that of gas or diesel.

The issue I have with this is that the markets and politics are very connected. If evidence begins to surmount that the virus originated in China from a lab leak, Trump may use that as fuel to apply Tariffs on China, which would greatly affect the markets.
