Hi Penelope! My birth parents did the same thing and i definitely relate to not hating them but hating their choice of leaving me at the mercy of the world around me, not knowing what would happen to me. I am so in awe of your bravery to decide at your age to leave everything you knew and come to the US to live with your beautiful family. your courage and strength inspire me
You should talk or share more about how you feel about your adopted parents & siblings.

you are inspirational🙂

Thanks for putting the effort to include English subtitles. I’m Chinese, born and raised in Canada. Cantonese is my 2nd language and I don’t speak Mandarin, so it helps. Love your honesty/candidness and love the Linky ending. LOL!

Hey girl, our experiences are kinda similar and I feel you. As long as you understand what you are doing, and make the best out of it, I respect whatever you do and I trust you won’t forget your adopted parents even though you may be apart from them.

Hi, I can totally relate to be divided in two. On one side is the region I was born and I grew up until I was 14, on the other side the region I live now, where I built my family. I will never be able to tell, which place I love more and the older I become, the better I understand that I don't have to decide. English seems to have only one word: home. In German it's Heimat and Zuhause and in Chinese it's Jiāyuán and Zàijiā (I think). Congrats on your second video! 🎉 I really like the way you switch between...combine the languages. And you went right into really personal questions. 😯 I hope for a third video, GO GIRL! 😉👍🏻

Hi Penelope, my name is Joy. I follow your family's channel. I think you were very brave to come on here and share your story. It was nice getting to know you. I'm also adopted. I was adopted from Korea when I was 22 months old. Im now 42, lol. My parents abandoned me at 6 months of age. I was born with a genetic disorder called albinism. Im legally blind and i have no pigment in my eyes, skin, and hair. My chances to be able to live happily in Korea might have been difficult because of my condition. So I'm glad God allowed me to grow up in America and be able to become who I am today.. One day I hope to find my biological family, but if not, I know God would have planned it that way for a reason. Im married, a mother of 2 children who are teens, and a Pastors wife here in rural PA. Being adopted can bring you through tough days, but i know for a fact that when God plans your life things are meant to happen, even if it brings tough days sometimes. You have a beautiful spirit and I know God has big plans for you. I pray that God blesses your life's journey and that you have much love and happiness.

I trust that history will show the many having kids live in a lot of fear. That the deciding might be due many reasons but the strongest is most likely fear of unknown. How to care for or how to get through the many wars and public harm that had run strongly ...even recent the decisions about how earth shows a type humanity that turns similar to animalistic because the shadowy type influence. I truly hope you do not feel alone . there are many ethnic here and between the meanness there are those not liking cruelty attitudes. We too have many things crossing minds that leave less peace. We need to learn how that comes back. I like you reaching out and videos of strong parent support. It shows we do have capable love and ethics that are still here. You'll do great I'm guessing. Your whole family shows love before attitude ...

Ro Marianne I learn mandarin when in Primary school but I hated it as we don’t speak it with the people around. I fail my Chinese or rather Mandarin every year until Secondary school that I give up. I only re-learn Mandarin when my 1st kid was 4 yrs old n in S’pore LKY, ask those that are Chinese to speank more Mandarin. There is a saying or slogan that say : Chinese people speak Mandarin for many years. Now I am able to speak and listen to Mandarin, unfornately when it come to reading I can read very little, come to writing I suck. My writing is worse then reading Manadrin.

I would still be with them, but if my biological parents recognized me, I would recognize them, but I would not live with them. Maybe I would get along with them like few day because they are biological parents after all I don't want to regret myself.Maybe I'm just too curious about my parents.

Nice job, Penelope. What is your Chinese name? How do you pronounce it? Maybe you can write it in Chinese and in English letters on your next video? 😊 Also, I'm sure your birth parents had a reason we cannot yet understand for their actions. Your beautiful homeland and culture does have a harsh government and officials at times, so maybe that had something to do with their confusing actions. I'm sure they love you and regret what happened with all their hearts. ❤ Well, it's fascinating to know that as happy as you always seem where you are, your homeland beckons. That makes sense though. That is human nature. You were already 12 when you came to America, and 12 year olds are already very wise and mature. Plus, that is a long time to psychologically bond closely with whomever they live with and whereever they live. All normal feelings! We are all so happy you're here though! Lucky us! 😍 I hope your heart does not ache much anymore, but if so, that would be natural and normal in your circumstances. We (American grown-ups) must remember that no amount of love, joy, sisterhood and brotherhood and privilege -- can stop the yearning for what is missed or lost. I know you will have the best of both worlds when you are grown, and are already having by your 2-year China visits. 🤗 YOU ARE AMAZING AND I LOOK FORWARD TO YOU WRITING A BOOK SOMEDAY ABOUT YOUR LIFE. 💕

Also I don’t know where they are/live and since I don’t speak the native language it would be hard to connect with them.
