I'm in no place to tell anyone what to do. But as a longtime subscriber, commenter and admirer of yours I think it would be a great practice if you tried not to mention your 'haters' in your videos. I think there are mean people who actively are trying to get a reaction from you. So I hope this is not taken the wrong way but maybe just don't give them any response at all because I think there are some people who are watching to see if you respond. I liked you ten years ago. I liked you five years ago. And I like you now. I think that you are a great person and you have such a sweet nature and you tend to apologize for things you don't need to apologize for. You can be however you are and we as your viewers can watch it or not. And so many people choose to watch and are nice. I wouldn't give any weight to the people who are mean.

Completely agree with this! We love you Jen and you do receive so many supportive comments. I know it must be hard to ignore the negative ones but by starting the video with a passive aggressive comment to the haters (‘I’m sure you’ll say something about my hair. THANKS). Well yes I’m sure someone will say something but why prod them or even acknowledge them? Just ignore them. You’ll never please everyone.

Change is our only constant. You are a great example of being a real life Mom, striving for balance and demonstrating options for a peaceful day where we bend with the winds of change. Thank you for being an inspiration and validation of real life struggles with healthy options for self care.

Don’t think of it as dating. Think about it as getting to know new people. Like a coworker or friend of a friend. That may take some pressure off the “dating” word. If someone pops up as very interesting, and you’ll know, take the next step. Also, I’ve noticed a brightness in your eyes. Very becoming!

Girl! Date. Lots. Go for drinks with lots of different guys, have different conversations with different personalities, push yourself out of your comfort zone. Have fun with it! I know to many people who get out of a long term relationship and then the first person they date is basically their ex.

Hi Jen! I started watching your MHWL channel in 2011 when I was 20, because at that time I really wanted to be a housewife lol, and I loved all of your cozy content & organizing vids! I stopped watching maybe 5 or 6 years ago and I came back to your channel a few months ago--I'm now 29 and your videos feel "like home" to me. A deep sense of nostalgia overcomes me when I watch. It is so cool to see your journey through the years, and you navigating this new terrain in the world of dating, etc. lmk if you ever need dating tips, b/c I'm right there with you ;)

Your words made me think of this quote “The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.” J. R. R. Tolkien I have also noticed how negative people are, I think we are all weary of COVID, but I have unfollowed some content creators because they are becoming more and more negative and complain. Your positive and honest attitude is refreshing!!

I've done some reading lately about medieval sleep practices; apparently, EVERYONE used to sleep in 2 stages, and would even get out and visit neighbors or have tea or read or other activities in the awake time in between. It has done much to make me feel like waking up at 3 is normal, and embrace my awake time and make it special. Then I can relax and get back to sleep.

The animated movie "Inside out" showed us that all our emotions are valid. We don't HAVE to be 'happy' all the time. We and those around us have to learn to deal with that. We can only live authentic lives if we are honest with ourselves first and that means giving ourselves the permission to experience and acknowledge all our emotions.
@lauraburgess1534
@lauraburgess1534 3 жыл бұрын
I am always telling people about this movie. Not only are all emotions valid, but we can experience multiple ones at the same time. At the end, when Riley's memories get "recolored" as both joyful and sad, or sad and angry, was so powerful to me.

I look for them everywhere, I have a special personal size ring binder that goes everywhere we me. YES on the cross road feelings! Life is about the process and finding joy in where you are. This took me a long time to discover, I was a runner- big time. Any time I felt unsure or discontent my automatic response was a big change, a cross country move, a career change, a break up. I finally have come to a place where I realize that happiness comes from working within myself not some external change. That’s not to say that this is everyone’s experience and it certainly wasn’t my childhood experience growing up with drug addicted, dysfunctional parents.

As a now 51 yo woman whose parents divorced when I was 7, it was the best gift my mother ever gave us. My parents were not good partners but rose to their very best as parents after the divorce. My mother was such an amazing role model for us to know our worth and to have standards. Also, I remember in 5th grade wishing my mom had the same last name. She had retaken her maiden name. Keep on moving forward and know that your children notice more than you think they do.

Hi Jen, I am so glad that you are doing well. As always, one could be doing a bit better but I am glad you are doing well. Keep doing you. Keep thriving. There is a saying that the best revenge is living well. Live well. I continue to wish you joy and the peace and blessings granted by God. And you know, we don't need to know everything. Today, sometimes, people think they need to know every little thing about others, particularly our online or public personalities and sometimes, we feel we need to share more. You do you. You only "owe" something to your children and yourself. Other than that, you don't owe anything to anyone. Be happy. Be you. I enjoy what you share when you are willing to share it. I've been watching a long time. I don't always leave comments but I do watch. I love your content.

You’re so lovely, I can’t wait to hear about your dating adventures in the future 💖 I’m 27 & wanna suggest ~ hanging out downtown at a fancy vegan restaurant & bar with a drink and a smile = always a good way to find like-minded singles!! XO

Ms Jen! I’ve watched you for years, I’m sure your videos have shaped me in ways I don’t even know yet, I’m happy to hear you’re doing so well even with a divorce, it almost scares me in some ways. I’m currently in your 19 y/o shoes myself. But I know that whatever happens, happens.

Don't stress yourself about doing vlogmass! If you wanna try and see if it works you could or do a hybrid version. Like one vlog a week either of one day or for the whole week. You don't need to do a video every day. While we will love whatever you post don't do it just for us. Do it if you want to and don't make it something else you HAVE to do! I'm glad you are doing pretty well. I get what you mean by being happy yet struggling.

Hi Jen! I wanna dance with you so bad!!! I’ve watched you since I was 12 (I’m 23 now), we actually live not far apart (I won’t say exactly bc internet creeps), you’ve helped me so much over the years. I relate so much to your personality, I’ve always struggled with anxiety and depression but have always been such an old soul and find happiness in home making, children, exercise and things, thank you for giving me a space to grow up. I can’t wait to see what you do in the future, you have inspired me so much and I know you’ll keep evolving over the years. There will always be ups and downs to life but by the blessings in our life we will survive ❤️

Hey girl been watching your videos since the beginning, love your content. I just wanted to say since you mentioned it the first 5 seconds of the video. If you are worried about styling your hair and all the haters out there, there’s hair pieces called toppers-not a wig but just extra hair you clip in and all’s you got to do is style it and then you can wear it for about a week or 2 without having to do anything to it. It’s so easy. I don’t sell them or anything it’s just something I recently came across and am interested in getting one myself. I like the Lauren Ashtyn Collection. Just FYI. Hair is stressful doing it all the time, so why not make things simple?

Speaking as someone who is also uncomfortable with casual dating, you are by no means obliged to see more than one person at once, I used to chat to a couple of nice people on dating apps and if they were really nice then meet them in person for a first date, with the mindset of if I found someone I then wanted to go on a second date with I would stop talking to other people. I was always incredibly honest that I was not looking for an open relationship, exclusivity was a priority for me and if that wasnt something they feltl they were ready for I politely said goodbye, Yes this way can make things take longer but I was in no rush. The biggest piece of advice I give for all to consider is spend a good amount of time deciding what YOU want, and be as open with it as possible. The whole concept of dating/relationships/good traits/bad traits/superficial/genuine is all subjective, so don't ever chastise yourself for the things you consider a priority, everyone is different, find someone who's priorities line up with yours as best as possible!

I was doing this with facebook. I realized I was seeking out the feeling that made me feel really really bad, it showed me all the things that "could have been ", "should have been " my life. uggh. nope. not looking at that again.

You are a wonderfully genuine person... Hope you find a great date that feels like home. You deserve the best. And You can always make up your own plan for Vlogmas. It doesn't have to conform to anything other than what you can do. A walk with Winnie and a coffee chat. a tree trimming, a dinner. Idk . I feel like you enjoy doing vlogmas and I think you can make it work in a simple way. Loads of love....Jess
