I taught middle school and one of the things that worried me about the "good" girls is that they wanted to be more like the "bad" girls while the "bad" girls wanted to be more like the "good" girls. The sad thing is that girls this age define themselves by what others say to them about themselves. I knew some beautiful GOOD girls who labeled THEMSELVES as bad girls because of the kids who they hung with and vice versa. Who is to define "good" vs "bad"? What is the definition of good and bad? It varies from student to student. I would suggest that Coffee and Bible Time quiz these students as to what they label good or bad and then address that. There is a lot of confusion in this area among this age group. It depends on if they are defining good vs bad by worldly standards or by Godly standards. Another thing that I found frightening with this age group is that a lot of girls engage in sex out of pure ignorance vs peer pressure. When I say this, what I am referring to, is that they have no idea as to the physical engagement of sex. They have heard stories from friends as to what sex entails....go out and do it...only to find that their friends saw it in a movie and are still virgins...and then those "friends" label the student as "bad".....when in fact...they were ignorant. Even with sex education, I think that we are falling short and need to remember that not all kids are taught about body functions in the home. They find out from ignorant peers. I am not saying to teach sex education here...but it might not be a bad idea to address it and to direct these girls as to where NOT to go for advise and who NOT to listen to as well as where to go for good advice. God love you all!

I'm a 13 year old Christian girl about to turn 14 in a few days and I love God soo much and when I'm home I pray and listen to worship and repent and everything, but then when I get to school it all goes downhill because you know you're so tempted to follow the crowd and act like everyone else. But I want to be the same even at school.

Middle school was HORRIBLE. I was so confused and I was a really mean person. Still suffering from what I did in the past :( but so happy that I have Jesus Christ now and I’ve changed! Thank you for the tips! :) Also, could you do a video on if Christians should read Harry Potter? I love the series so much and want to continue reading but I want to make sure the Father is alright with it
@mariahernandezmoya6 жыл бұрын
Hi! I have read Harry Potter and I don't think it is wrong. You just have to be aware that it is fiction and that witchcraft doesn't exist. It didn't affect my faith at all. Maybe you can pray and ask God about it. Hope this helps!
@sweetlemonade69256 жыл бұрын
@@mariahernandezmoya Not to be mean or anything. But what do you mean with 'Witchcraft doesn't exist'? The Bible has numerous occasions in where people were using witchcraft. If you say that it doesn't exist then you are saying that those occasions in the Bible never existed. Even today people still use it, for example my parents came from Africa and there voodoo is still practiced in some parts, voodoo is a religion that has a witch doctor that does witch craft, and I can tell you that it does exist, maybe in the way you don't expect. Because when people think about witches and wizard and witchcraft, they immediately think about an ugly women with a broom and a big giant pot mixing potions, but I can reassure you that it's a lie. A lie from the devil, so that people can have this stereotype and never suspect someone of being a witch. Witches in these modern day look like normal people and act like normal people and they don't necessarily have to be ugly, the difference is, is that they get their 'power' from the devil that's why they are called witches. The Bible clearly says in Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.". These principalities, powers, rulers of darkness etc are witches, wizards, demons, Witchcraft etc! If we are fighting against them, that for sure means that they were fighting against us (God's children). If you don't believe that Witchcraft exists then you for sure don't believe that our enemy the devil is fighting against God's children. Reading Harry Potter books of watching the films may not necessarily be a sin, but it sure is a device from Satan. 1 Peter 5:8 says 'Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.' If a lion is hungry and decides to go hunting and sees its prey from afar, the lion is going to creepy quietly behind its prey and will probably also disguise itself amongst the grass, it the prey is standing still because its distracted by something else, the prey will never know that is at its back. And it's only when the lion is is close by that the lion will jump in full force and catch its prey. What I mean with this is that the devil never makes it clear that he is after us, he uses distractions which seem harmless so that we won't suspect him before he actually gets us. 1 Peter 5:8 is not a command or rule, it's a warning, so you can see that it's important. The Harry Potter book is full of abomination towards God, so I don't see why Christians would enjoy reading or watching such things. The Bible says that we should flee from such things. Plus reading or watching Harry Potter books or films doesn't make our spiritual life grow, it does the opposite. We are thought to do things that grow our spiritual life.

@@sweetlemonade6925 Sorry if I offended you, English is not my first language and I used the word witchcraft wrong. What I meant is that you shouldn't be reading that as reality because it is a fantasy novel, I wanted to express that you shouldn't take it like the book is real. I know it doesn't contribute to growing my faith but when I read it a couple of years ago I didn't find it disturbing to my relationship with God. I just read it as an entertainment and saw no wrong with it. I apologize for giving a bad advice, I didn't know it was wrong reading books like these
