I have been a Christian since 1979 and have NEVER read the whole Bible in a year. Well, 2025 will be the year that I will do it. I have gathered a group of women who desire to read the Bible in a year also. Accountability. It's easy to start but getting around the end of February and definitely by March my past goals fizzled out. Well, with the perseverance of the Holy Spirit and other likeminded sisters, we will do it! Thank you, Jesus. I will be using the Daily Walk Bible NIV.

This is going to go against the grain but, in my opinion, we shouldn’t try to read the bible in a year. We are rushing through passages without the opportunity to meditate on them, do any cross referencing or research any questions that may come up.

It’s good to read the Bible in different ways. Sometimes to read all the way through, and sometimes reading a few verses and meditating and studying them in depth. Either way, we are in God’s word, and His word does not return void. It can never be bad to be reading in His word.

Fantastic advice for anyone. My only tweak to this is to get each translation in a unique emphases so it never tires of being a fresh experience for you. For example, I have a Reader’s Edition CSB, a church history ESV, a premium NASB, a Full Notes NET, the NLT in Immerse Reading Edition and - my personal favorite - NRSV Cultural Studies Bible. Have fun with the Bible!! Never stop learning!

I love this idea!! I’ve been doing the Bible Recap (going on my third year) and I absolutely love it!! I love that Johnny was so encouraging and serious lol he’s always such a jokester (which makes me laugh). Seeing him speak in a serious level was nice, seeing the love he has for God, and God’s word is so amazing to see. I also love the idea of starting a new translation every year ❤ I am going to start that myself. And I will start with the NLT. I just finished the ESV (one of my favorites). I was happy to hear that he recommends the NLT as a translation for o begin with for new beginners. That’s the translation I bought for my Son-in-Law. Thank you both for what you do in sharing God’s word and love seeing little Theo 🥰 my Grandson is just a few months older than Theo and love seeing him grow on your channel. So sweet. May God bless your family and all that you do for this community and sharing God’s word.

I did the NKJV in 2023, first time completing a read through... Did the CSB study bible chronologically in 2024, finished with enough time to read the LSB in a 90 day plan (glad I did the LSB as a 90 day plan, I didn't enjoy the translation much) and I'm currently doing The Jesus Bible in NIV with Faith's Grace Bible Reading Plan... I've got my next 6 translations chosen and ready to go (as I will often compare translations when I'm studying)

What a wonderful video! I usually stick with the King James version that I grew up with. I love my King James Life Application Study Bible. I understand the King James version of the Bible very well. For years it was the only version I read and studied. Now I also have the new King James version that was a gift from my cousin. Maybe it's wrong to study one version of the Bible but it works for me. I have many books and at least one on each book of the Bible so I also use those but I don't feel the need to study other versions of the Bible. I read the KJ and NKJ version in my daily study of the Bible. I kind of feel disconnected from many versions of the Bible and to me the King James Bible is easy to understand and I've always gotten a lot out of studying it. This was good for encouragement and Johnny has such good ideas for reading other versions! I hope you and your family have a wonderful and very Happy and healthy New Year!

I have read through the Bible in NKJV and then the ESV. Now I follow specific books which take one book and go in depth with the book. I like both ways. As long I am learning it helps me grow as a believer. I do advise folks to have more than one Bible version because it really helps to understand a verse you may not understand in one version but may be clearer in another version. I hope we all have a successful 2025 journey in our Bible studies.

I grew up reading one version of the Bible, the kjv, and that was my Bible till around 27/28, when I started using multiple versions during our ladies Bible studies. Then just before I turned 29, I got my first NLT, and looooved it. It became my main Bible (though I also read from some of the other versions) until after I turned 49. Then I started studying in Scripture journals, which were ESV. And then that same yr I watched a video of a pastor saying he has a yearly Bible, and how he used a different translation each year. And our church, for 2024, planned to read thru the entire Bible, looking for Jesus in all of Scripture. (It was neat seeing that as a theme for The Daily Grace Co for 2025!). So I found an ESV journaling Bible I liked for 2024. I’d never attempted, nor wanted to, read the entire Bible in a year. I’m more of a dig in to studying 3-5 verses a day, or 1 chapter a week. And 2024 was the first time in 31 years of studying God’s word that I saw the timeline connections throughout the Old Testament. And then I got frustrated as all get out, because I wanted to read the Bible AS IT HAPPENED, and NOT in the sections that the books were placed in. So I dug around and found a Chronological Bible that made sense to me for 2025, and this year’s Bible is a CSB Bible…and the first time using that translation. I’m already thinking on what to read in 2026, and I have a one year Bible (can’t remember the version) that does a daily reading in the OT, NT, and Psalms/Proverbs, and I think that might be my Bible for next year! We’ll see what God wants for me next year!

I will say that I want any/all future Bibles to have 2” along the sides for me to write in!!! I don’t want to go back to teeny tiny margins! But then I own journaling Bibles in nlt, niv, esv, and csb…and I *think* the one for next yr has a wide space along the margins…. I got it about a year ago, so I’m not sure….

I love Leviticus!! (NASB & CJB) I have been studying God's Holy word since 2001, but in 2018 God showed me His Biblical Truths, not "Replacement Theology" or "Church Doctrine". I love studying Leviticus!!, it is the heart of God, right in-between the first 5 books of the Bible. (His instructions for us on how to live). God has revealed to us in Scripture (Gen-Deut.) straight forward things to do: Observe/Keep His Rest day Holy - (His, not ours). Exodus 20:8-11 4th Commandment is glossed over for so many.😔 Its God's gift of rest for us. ... "those who love me, keep my commandments". Celebrate His 7 Holy Feasts. >Lev. 23 Yes, God cares what we do, say & Eat as well. >Observe His Food laws: God speaks "directly" to Moses on what is animals, etc. for food & what is not. Lev. 11 & Deut. 14, Clean & Unclean for us believers. Deuteronomy 14:3 “You shall not eat any detestable thing". Read all verses for more. His instructions are there for us, but we tend to gloss over them. Why? Because "Replacement Thelogy" has been in the "Church" for soo long vs. Biblical Truths, which will open our hearts to His Kingdom, God things & God's ways, not our ways. Be a Light in a dark/fallen world. Live in Truth & Holiness. Ephes. 5:8-14 Do what we can do now, until the Temple is rebuilt. God bless! 🥰 Pray this draws you to Biblical Truths, not "Church doctrine" or "Church theology". Sharing this in Love.🥰 Matt 5:17-19 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished! Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

When it comes to annual Bible reading plans, I think most Christians are setting the bar artificially lower than they need to. I'm not advocating any legalistic view on how much scripture one should consume per year, but by attaching a goal of reading the Bible cover-to-cover in 1 year, we may be limiting our exposure to the word. Once I broke free from an "annual" Bible reading plan, I found that I was able to read the Bible 3 and 4+ times in a year, just by setting the bar a little higher with my reading schedule. Just something to think about. God bless!

always enjoy your videos but I have to disagree with you on this one. and this is just for me. each of us have to make decisions on which translation to read. i predominantly read and study out of the KJV. all of my memorization is in KJV. I love the language and elegance of the KJV. When I run into something I don't understand I use my dictionary and commentaries and will look at several translations to see how they translated that verse. There are many free apps that assist in that process. I love using the blue letter bible app for that. i like being able to remember where a verse is on a certain age. in a certain corner. this aids me in finding verses.
