That was good advice. I'm used to hearing "follow your dreams, be yourself, don't be afraid to put yourself out there, be willing to fail", but this was an actual actionable piece of advice.

Yeah, the advice of keeping to the format, don't try to push the limits and write something out of the box, they have a format and a style and that's all they are interested in, so just learn the style and the limits and stick within that format. Great advice.

Simply getting your foot in the door is half the battle anyways… get in, make a mark and eventually you can rise up the ranks and have more influence on whatever space you have entered. 🎉🎉🎉

I tried substitute teaching once. The teacher in the classroom next door came in halfway through to yell at us for making too much noise, and when she entered the room, I was chasing a student around the room. We were all throwing kleenex boxes at eachother. They stopped asking me back to substitute.
