Conan is the opposite of Ellen. Ellen had the facade of "be kind to people", but was a horrible toxic boss behind the scenes. While Conan often pretends to be this dictatorish boss (obviously for comedic effect), but in reality is genuinely a fantastic human being.

I hadn't seen that either. It's clearly evident that Andy's greatest contribution may have not been as on-stage sounding board and quipster (which we saw) but as backstage morale booster who made Conan laugh, lifted his spirits and kept the daily grind of producing a late-night television show fun. Conan says he literally wouldn't have survived those difficult early years without him.

A few years ago Conan in his Darthmouth commencement speech said "...Your perceived failure can become a catalyst for profound reinvention." When Conan got booted out NBC's Late Night he probably felt like a failure. Every host considered NBC to be the pinnacle. Conan moved his show to basic cable and continued his brand of late night comedy and not conforming to what big execs want. After all that and when his late night career finally ended, many now consider him as the GOAT. Full circle for Conan.

Seriously, I wish his talk show never ended… my very first sitting in a late night show taping was Conan. It was such a memorable day, super funny, super entertaining. Our audience got to chant “USA!” And “Truck Nuts!” within a minute. We got to see the segment of when Andy went Noodling before they aired it on tv. “One of a kind” kind of guy and i cannot wait for him to host the Oscars.
