The thing with nonduality is that it does a great job explaining the nature of reality, and it brings us solace by saying "you are already that". But it's difficult to tell (at least for me) whether this understanding is something we just take on intellectually and bring about a corresponding experience through confirmation bias, or whether this can actually does bring about the permanent loss of the center. Do you have a lived day to day experience of perceiving with zero center / vantage point?

I'm struggling to understand how this state of neutrality and numbness is better than just living as the "illusion" of "me" and rolling with whatever life/the simulation throws at me. I honestly like having emotions and feeling things have meaning (even if, in this non-duality model, they don't). I'm trying to understand the benefit of this mindset.

You can still feel emotions it's just you won't get drawn into them but rather become aware of them

Pride and fear NEED TO KNOW. Seeking and accumulating data and a narrative are a way to minimize fear or improve one's feeling about oneself. It's great to not know and be ok with that ... but is not knowing knowing?! I don't know if I agree that meditation is for "making the body feel good".

And your mother does not see the difference before and after so what/who is speaking in these videos? I get that nobody is there but something is missing in the equation and it's hard to express this in writting. Maybe a chat with you will be required to answer my question.
