Nail Career Education Hi Suzie! I'm so happy you like them! Yeh I saw that video (commented as well 😉) Loved it!! 💗🌸💕Your videos as are always a pleasure to watch! As I mentioned in this video, it's of course ok to use cleanser/alcohol sometimes if you feel like you really need to, the brush is not going to explode 😜😜 It's more like if you use it on a regular basis. I've ruined sooooo many of my brushes in the past because I didn't know this and I was told by my teacher to do it like that. Then I switched to LE and they (Jim) taught me this little trick and I've never had problems with my brushes again. And of course, as you say, having a cap for your brushes will make them last way longer too! Much love 😘💗🌈

I clean my brushes with dry wipe and then cleanser for the color and gel remover when sanitizing. Then I put on a clear gel at the end off use and cap. My supplier recommend that way for sanitized brushes and keeping them from drying out.

Hello my beautifuls! So honestly, have you been using cleanser or alcohol to clean your brushes with? Where you surprised by this information? Share your story and your thoughts and discuss with each other!

Does the gel harden over time, and stiffen the hairs in the brush? Because gels cure in normal sunlight too, so wouldn't they slowly set over time?
7 жыл бұрын
Pretty Pixy As long as the brushes are not exposed to sunlight the gel will not cure. If you just leave them and never use them however, some of the gel will eventually evaporate when exposed to air and dust will get stuck in the brush and cause it to dry out. I would recommend using brushes that comes with a cap. That way your brushes will last much longer and the bristles will be protected.
@DidiRockabella7 жыл бұрын
Pretty Pixy that's why I only have brushes that come with caps. I also store them in a big drawer in my workdesk just to keep my workspace clean and tidy

Celina Rydén hi! I have a question about what you do with a brush when a couple bristles poke out of place? My main gel brush has one or 2 bristles that just poke out and I've tried using gel to get them to smooth out and stick together with the rest of them, but they're determined to pop out! Should I cut them? Or just buy a new brush? I'm not even sure how it happened, I'm always careful when putting the cap on. 😭
@victoriarimmer18517 жыл бұрын
Thats absolutely fantastic, I thought you had to use cleanser to get all the old gel off the bristles to stop them getting glued up. I will definately be just using a dry wipe from now on, Thank you so much for the info. Love your videos. 💖💖💖💖

My nailteacher also thaught us to never use products on our brushes, because they do dry out. And my brushes are still like new! Great tip! I also can’t wait to get the signature nail art brushes! I think they will be amazing too! 👌🎀

So long as you keep it away from direct sunlight/uv lights (from your lamp, f.e.) you should be fine. Cap those puppies and you're golden.

I was thinking the same thing... Then wouldn't the brush be stucked with old gel polishes?
@catalinhaldan82963 жыл бұрын
Yes. They get dry, sticky and the colour still on the brushes bleed into another colour. That's some bullshit.

Hi!! Thank you for sharing - I was using alcohol, but I won't anymore!! Off topic question out of curiosity - what's your favorite tea and how do take it? Curious minds want to know! ☕️💜💅

Nails by Sharon H Hello! Ooh, it depends a little bit. I definitely like green best, that's for sure. Lately I've been obsessed with matcha and I also have a nice blend with strawberry/champagne and rhubarb/cream. I love to drink "spicier" teas in the winter so I drink a lot of chai and other teas like that. I always have it with a splash of milk and a little bit of honey. 😎👌🏻☕️ I have a full cupboard in the kitchen filled with different teas! 😂😂

Celina Rydén I love chai tea too!!! I love orange tea with cloves in it!! I usually drink it plain or with honey, but I'll have to give it a try with cream or milk. ☕️💜

Celina, here's a Q. 'But only using a wipe for cleaning the brushes, they'll always stay sticky. Is that normal? Or is there any other ways to clean them so they'll always look as new and the texture of the tip will remain smooth?'
7 жыл бұрын
_PamelaXD _ The reason why you want to keep the gel in your brush is that it keeps the bristles together and makes sure that you have a nice tip. When you start using a new brushes you want to work some clear gel into the brush and then wipe it with a dry wipe. Then the clear gel will serve as a protection so the brush will stay nice and keep its shape.

Does it matter if you use different brands of gel with the same brush, as they are different consistencies and chemical composition?
7 жыл бұрын
Pretty Pixy Myself I would never use different brands of gel and use the same brushes because of the risk of allergies. The thing is that Light Elegance can be an alternative for people who are sensitive to nail materials because Jim (the chemist) removed a component in the material that could cause reaction for some people. So if you then mix that brush with another brand and then use LE with a sensitive client, she could get an allergic reaction because there's still some product left in the brush. And even if you don't have sensitive clients, mixing uncured products from different brands is not to recommend. Hope this helps 🌸

Thank you! I have been wiping with a lint free wipe but I sprayed it with alcohol!!! Now I know it's not needed! Sometimes I put cuticle oil on my brushes when they seem dry. Is that ok?
7 жыл бұрын
Sarah C If you're working with acrylic paint, yes. If you are working with gel, no. The gel will separate from the oil and make it difficult for the gel to stick to brush and also make the gel difficult to work with. What's left on the brush after you wipe it with a dry wipe will work as oil and make sure that the bristles stay in place.
@sarah13sj7 жыл бұрын
+Celina Rydén thank you for responding 💜. I will keep my brushes for gels oil free. I have one brush I use for polish cleanup not gels and I've been using oil to keep that one nice. I'm looking into schools in my area so I can become a nail tech and do what I love. I'm hoping to one day get to take classes with LE💜💜

This is easy. Lol. I was told it's best to use 3 parts water 1 part acetone. Would this mixture be OK???
7 жыл бұрын
ladyinmauve There's no reason to put any type of solution on your brush to clean it and you want to keep some gel in your brush to make sure you maintain the shape, not cleans it off. Invest in one brush for only clear, one for only whites, one for color and one for glitter. Gel actually kills of any bacteria so you won't have to worry about contamination or anything like that.

Carly P Yes, then you just pull it out. 😊👍🏻 Glitter is glitter, it's not going to get easier if you use alcohol/cleanser. The best advice I can give is to have multiple brushes, ex one for dark glitter and one for light glitter and so on. ⭐️
