Honestly the highlight of this video for me was watching you and Mark interact and look at each other with smiles on your faces; your relationship is so lovely! Also, very interesting points about taking your time. I've just moved into my first home and there's so much I want to do but can't afford to immediately; it was nice having a reminder that taking your time is a good thing. x

With Mark on the black fixtures thing! I loved them for a minute (especially unused, in stores), but we have hard water too, and when I saw a black kitchen faucet in regular use at a publishing house, which btw has professional cleaners come in every other day, the spell was broken. They looked rough. But then shiny ones show dried water droplets, so brushed chrome all the way ;)

Love the way Mark talked you out of turning your flat into the "Instagram look" with the dark taps and dark F&B sitting room, they are alreAdy out of date. I loved the aesthetic of your flat and I'm looking forward to seeing your house progress. Great vibe in the video!

I really enjoy hearing Mark’s Brummie accent! I am a Brummie, but live in Australia now, and it’s just so nice to hear that accent. I’ve got everything crossed for you both that this house goes through successfully. I remember when we were buying our home, and the agonising wait to find out if everything was approved. In reality, it is so much easier to buy here though. No chains in Australia 🇦🇺 Good luck 🤞. (Ps I love my sideboard with my vinyl deck!)

I am a little bit scared haha but im really loving black as a neutral 💖💖💖

I wasn’t surprised when you guys said you were moving. I think a big difference between our parents/grandparents generations and us is people aren’t buying forever homes straight up. They are starting small and slowly building up to forever homes, rather than renting until they can afford that forever homes. Where as there is soooo many older individuals still living in the houses they bought in their 20s

I think the key to any renovation is stick to classics. If your style is contemporary or modern, stick to the classics of that design style. Also good to hear you would respect the Victorian history/features of the house. I love the wide mouldings and plaster medallions in Victorian, but it works well with modern/Scandinavia furnishings. Texture in neutrals is key as well. Can’t wait to see what you do with the (hopefully) new place!

Great video. When you mentioned adding something ‘fluffy’ to warm up a minimal interior, I immediately thought of you getting a couple of fluffy kittens, wouldn’t that be a great addition to a new home! Also, I love the look of black taps, but I am with Mark on the impracticality if you have hard water, and would agree that dark walls are not good for resale...
