Thank you thank you thank you. Pre 1000 sub here ;). I literally had an LGS tell me they were thinking about canceling Prismatic pre orders that they advertised early on so that they could have more inventory and then resell at market value. It feels like it's almost every store. Other stores are waiting and watching the market rise, and now putting preorders at what the scalpers are selling at. They're no better than the scalpers. Now imagine if those LGS weren't around, their allocations would just go to big box stores who would just sell at msrp. I'd rather have at least a chance at msrp rather than a for sure LGS selling at current market price.

Your take on the credibility check is pretty good I think. The same people who are already successful in the world of Pokémon are also starting KZbin channels. Why? The answer seems to be as an additional revenue stream or a boost to said Pokémon business. You have the prerequisites to start a more profitable KZbin channel (e.g. hype channel), yet you choose to make a potentially less popular channel. And the proof of your credibility actually lies within your reluctance to boast about your size. Of course, I don't know your true motivations, but they seem genuine.

Very thoughtful reply and exactly how I feel. For those of us who have been doing this for awhile, a credibility check (i.e. you posing in front of your vast sealed collection) is proof of the opposite of credibility.

Congrats on 1K!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Totally agree that the value of the experiences you share with your family when opening packs is better than any monetary value! The Japanese vs English is a great question! I feel like Japanese cards hit different though. I do enjoy Japenese sets myself but also not versed in them.

My strategy is to buy a case of booster boxes for each set, crack 1 booster box open for fun and possible hits for grading, leave the remaining 5 to accumulate in value

Love it. You have a plan and that's step/rule #1 for sure. I usually get about 4 boxes a set. Goal is to liquidate 1-2 boxes to cover initial dollar investment for that set, meaning remaining boxes have zero cost basis and can ride it out.
