The hype around Brilliant Stars when it released was wild! And, honestly: I believed it. It was hard to imagine the dominance of Charizard as a chase card losing its appeal at the time, but it was likely overdue. It’s still a great set, but it’s also nice to see other Pokemon get their time to shine 😊

I'm interested in what liquidating your products looks like long term. If we look at TCGPlayer, older Sun/Moon sets sell maybe 300 boxes a year. I know this doesn't account for other market places like Ebay but is this not very low? If everyone is hoarding cases of these products, how is demand going to match up? Interested in hearing your take.

I'm working on another Pokemon Investing 101 video about liquidation. Short answer to your question is there is FAR more organic demand for SWSH/SV than there was during Sun/Moon. Part of the experience in collecting is what you experienced opening yourself. The joy and nostalgia of a set. Just less people experienced that during Sun/Moon. The rise of investing isn't just because people think they can make money, it's because organic demand for Pokemon is MASSIVE now.
