@@mistikmckk29Praise be to Allaah. In the Tafseer of this aayah, it is reported that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The five daily prayers are (mentioned) in the Qur’aan.” He was asked, “Where?” He said, “Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): ‘So glorify Allaah when you come up to the evening’ is maghrib and ‘isha’; ‘and when you enter the morning’ is fajr; ‘in the afternoon’ is ‘asr; and ‘the time when the day begins to decline’ is zuhr.” Other mufassireen, such as al-Dahhaak and Sa’eed ibn Jubayr said the same thing. Some of the mufassireen said that these aayat mention only four of the prayers; ‘isha’ is not mentioned here, but it is mentioned in Soorat Hood, where Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “… and in some hours of the night…” [Hood 11:114] Most of the mufassireen are of the first opinion. Al-Nahhaas (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “The scholars of Tafseer say that the aayah (interpretation of the meaning): ‘So glorify Allaah when you come up to the evening and when you enter the morning…’ [al-Room 30:17] refers to the prayers.” Imaam al-Jassaas (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): ‘… The prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed times [mawqootan].’ [al-Nisa’ 4:103]. It was reported that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood said: ‘[Mawqootan means that] Salaah has an appointed time just as Hajj does.’ It was reported that Ibn ‘Abbaas, Mujaahid and ‘Atiyyah said [that mawqootan means] ‘It is obligatory’… The word ‘mawqootan’ means that it is obligatory at certain times. The times are referred to in general terms in this aayah and are explained elsewhere in the Book, without defining precisely when those times start and end - that was explained in detail by the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). What Allaah mentioned about the times of the prayers in His Book is (interpretation of the meaning): “Perform al-Salaah from mid-day till the darkness of the night and recite the Qur’aan in the early dawn…” [al-Isra’ 17:78]. Mujaahid reported from Ibn ‘Abbaas: “’Mid-day’ means when the sun has passed its zenith for salaat al-zuhr, and ‘the darkness of the night’ means the beginning of the night, for salaat al-maghrib.” It was also reported from Ibn ‘Umar that mid-day meant the zenith… Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And perform al-salaah at the two ends of the day and in some parts of the night” [Hood 11:114]. ‘Amr reported from al-Hasan that ‘the two ends of the day’ means fajr at the first end and zuhr and ‘asr at the other; ‘some parts of the night’ means maghrib and ‘isha’. So according to this opinion the aayah refers to all five prayers…. Layth reported from al-Hakam from Abu ‘Ayyaad that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “This aayah mentions all five prayers together. ‘So glorify Allaah when you come up to the evening’ refers to maghrib and ‘isha’, ‘and when you enter the morning’ refers to fajr, ‘in the afternoon’ is ‘asr; and ‘the time when the day begins to decline’ is zuhr.” Something similar was also reported from al-Hasan. Abu Razeen reported from Ibn ‘Abbaas: “ ‘…and glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting’ [Qaaf 50:39 - interpretation of the meaning] refers to the prescribed prayers. ‘… and glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting, and during some of the hours of the night, and at the sides of the day, that you may become pleased with the reward which Allaah shall give you.’ [Ta-Ha 20:130 - interpretation of the meaning] This aayah also includes the times of the prayers. All of these aayaat mention the times of the prayers.” Ahkaam al-Qur’aan by al-Jassaas, Baab Mawaaqeet al-Salaah. What you should also know is that the Qur’aan does not contain details of all the rules. The Qur’aan mentions many rules, but it also tells us that the Sunnah is a source of evidence in which many rules are mentioned in detail that are not mentioned in the Qur’aan. Allaah says (interpretation of the meanings): “… and We have also sent down to you (O Muhammad) the reminder and the advice (the Qur’aan), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them and that they may give thought.” [al-Nahl 16:44] “… and whatsoever the Messenger gives you, take it…” [al-Hashr 59:7] The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I have been given the Qur’aan and something like it with it…” (Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 16546; this is a saheeh hadeeth). Whether the rules were narrated in the Qur’aan or in the Sunnah, all of it is true and right, and all of it has one source, which is the wahy or revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.

I think it is necessary to understand what we are reciting in our prayer to accheive any results. Sadly, most of the muslims do not even know the translation of the Ayats we recite during prayers. The key to better prayer is to understand the ayats during prayer and being mindful about it, contemplating about it. I personally have experienced it with Surah Fatiha which I know the translation of.

So, in Islam meditation means " thinking About Allah's creation, pray to Allah, ....", not the Yoga!
@zakamoto16439 жыл бұрын
+Dewan Sadik Muslims actually know little or nothing about pure meditation. It becomes obvious when they persist in confusing it with zikr. Shabier Allie does it over and over because he doesn't know any better. This is not his area of expertise. Shabier is a premium grade muslim apologist, but he is not a doctor of the heart and this is not the first timeI have seen him out of his depth. It would have been better if they interviewed someone from Naqshbandi Tariqa or one of its branches who would know better. Muslims need to understand that our Sheikhs, imaams and maulana's each have their area of expertise. And meditation too is an area of expertise. Naqshbandi Tariqa practice is the closest that muslims come to pure meditation. Even then it is very different from that of yoga, buddhist or hindu meditation. In terms of outcomes or results everything is the same. For that reason spirituality is the best means to unite people of different faiths, if they want to of course. But it is with the methodology, doctrines and beliefs that we part ways. In yoga, buddhist and hindu meditation the aim is to empty the mind of thoughts and memory, hence the emphasis is on pure meditation practice, meaning the senses are shut down and deprived of external stimuli. In islamic meditation (Tasawwuf) the aim is to replace the the contents of mind with the name(s) of Allah. Hence there is greater emphasis on Zikr and less emphasis on meditation. Both methods purify the soul. But Sheikhs choose this latter method because it is more in accordance with Shariah and Sunnah. Perhaps if the Hadith said more about Mohammads meditative practice, muslims would find more favour with it. Shabier did name the method of Mohammad's(saw) method of meditation but he gave no description of it. Muslims are very sensitive about bid'aah ( innovation). For that reason the Sufi Sheikhs have had to be very careful in designing their meditation programs and again for that reason they over emphasize zikr. The latter (zikr) is the only thing a muslim can't get enough of. Islamic spiritual practice(Tasawwuf) must conform with the Shariah. In orthodox islam, salat is compulsory, but Tasawwuf is not. However immediately after innitiation, Tasawwuf becomes compulsory. It is blended with Salat and other forms of Zikr. So the murids of Tariqa can be seen sitting on their prayer mats long after salat ended. Tasawwuf also conforms with Sunnah. Muhammad (saw) said, "He who performs obligatory worship is saved, but he who does additional worship obtains proximity (nearness) to Allah. " The goal is proximity to Allah. This is the station of Wilaayat (Sainthood)...the friends of Allah. This brings us to the most important aspect of Sufism...it is that Sufism is based on Sainthood. The Saints form the brotherhood of the Prophets and they share a spiritual connection with one another. Sainthood succeeded Prophethood which ended with Muhammad. And Sainthood is just one station below Prophethood. The two are very close, albeit separate.

Meditation can either be "with seed" and "without seed" . To focus deeply on something in particular is "with seed" while to empty ones mind of thought is "without seed". Either approach is effective in grounding the individual by reducing emotionality and curbing intrusive thoughts. I have found that meditation over time helps me to be more present in activities such as prayer, discussions and socialization. I have an APP on my phone that gives me a Quranic quote each day which is a great thing to contemplate throughout the day. FWIW.

@@lovelyrayy5492 Hey I know you guys were asking the other person, but I can give my perspective as meditation lead me to Islam again when I had become lost. I was born into a Muslim family but in my early 20s I felt quite lost, I started having doubts in my mind, I didn't know Islam too well, I was thinking things like "if I was born into a Christian family, then I would be Christian, so how do I know Islam is correct?" I just practised when I was told, or when people would go pray, I never really understood it. I would meet people from all sorts of religions that are kind people and would wonder that these people are not Muslim yet they are great human beings. At this point I felt like I was not Muslim. However, I started developing anxiety perhaps through not knowing myself too well and socially I did not feel right being amongst people that drink alcohol and etc. I stumbled upon meditation as a means to calm my anxiety. Meditation helped reduced the fogginess in my head and helped me think cleare and helped me remind myself how grateful I should be in life. I found myself doing it automatically like 4/5times a day and somehow started saying arabic phrases which calmed and helped me see even clearer. It suddenly clicked why Muslims pray 5 times a day. When non-Muslims used to ask me this before, I never understood why. But I felt like through meditation I understood prayer much better. It keeps us in the right path, it keeps us as a reminder to how grateful we should be for life and so it helps us avoid temptations that could lead to bad paths..... I now pray and read more and more everyday about the beauty of Islam.

Maybe by the time this was published "Meditation" was not a thing amongst muslims. Note, I capitalized the word Meditation referring to the hindu way of doing meditation. Year 2024: hindu way of doing meditation and yoga is taking the islamic world by storm unfortunately. I wish the video drew a clear distinction between the two. Obviously, hindsight is 20/20. Maybe grab this opportunity and create another video on whether it is permissible to do hindu way of meditation in Islam. a) in exact way it is done in Hinduism b) some muslims mix hindu forms (posture, concentration, etc) with islamic content such as remembrance of Allah.
@DC-wp6oj6 жыл бұрын
Muslims dont do meditation in the strict buddhist/hindu sense but the Islamic way of calming the mind, the body and soul is focusing on the creator, who is the source of all peace and tranquility. There is zikr and reflection as well as practicing forgiveness and compassion. In the world today we have people chasing materialism and the greed for money that has affected all humanity. And so it seems people are clutching straws as though 'meditation' is the cure for our ills. Perhaps lessening our chase for wealth and gadgets might help a lot more. Praying 5x a day is a good way to break thought patterns that create the stresses we face on a daily basis.

Do not control any bodily function. All that's needed is attention to them. If ur breath slows down ur too focused on ur breathing and ur mind slows it down. Try to focus on everything, thoughts, breathing, sounds, e.t.c. All meditation is a mindfulness to existence.

Meditation is not belonging with any religion. It is for whole human been of the earth. Any religious person do the mediation without leaving his religion. That's a biggest things about meditation . It's also called ana pan sati in pali literature. Meditation teach us don't think about past because we can not live in past. Meditation teach us don't imagine about future because we can not go in future for leaving. Meditation teach us live in present time. Because we just live in present. There is no tense that we live there without present. So enjoy every present moment in your life without harming anyone.

Meditation nor yoga is haram. Meditation is something you go trough spiritually so when doing so (fex what I do) is I continousely thank Allah swt. for the blessings I have, I am more calm with the thought that if I put my trust to Allah swt, everything will be fine. It's just a quiet moment between me, my thoughts and Allah. Yoga is something for your body. It's is literally stretching? I mean in Islam, we also need to take care of our body! From the moment you practice these things with Allah swt. in your mind, it will only make you stronger and it is only benificial for you tbh. From the moment you start to practice something with the thought that there is some Divine Power besides Allah swt., you are then committing shirk. There is where you need to be careful.

Hi I’m not an Islamic scholar but I do know that showing interests in crystals, auras, etc are prohibited because it is not an Islamic thing. Many people who do these things are satanists , Buddhists etc who believe in multiple gods. These crystals people use on TikTok is to manifest thing etc which is haram because in Islam we don’t manifest we ask Allah and Allah only. I would advise to search and find scholars and sheiks who speak on this subject. May Allah bless you and grant you more Islamic knowledge. Amen 💕💕
