Hello there!
Here I am, hosting the Q&A session I mentioned recently.
Feel free to ask me whatever you want: it can be about editing, about my past videos, about my future videos, about my hobbies, about myself, about pretty much anything really, as long as you are not rude about it. xD Just leave your questions in the comments below and have a little patience. :)
Just FYI, I am an Italian native speaker and I am fluent enough in English (Spanish I can only speak a little), so please try to write in one of these two languages if possible, otherwise it might be a problem.
I still haven't decided whether I'll reply your questions here, directly in the comment section or if I will upload a video in a few weeks time. From the poll, most of you seem to prefer the second option so I'll definitely keep that in mind, though I will probably only record my voice and not my face.

How did you get introduced to Pride and prejudice in the first place? Do you have a favorite genre, besides classics/historical romance? Some books and tv shows/movies recommendations?

I discovered P&P when I was around 16/17. I was in high school and I knew we were about to study Jane Austen. It was a year or two after the 2005 movie had come out (yes, I am that old LOL), and this classmate of mine told me about it and recommended it to me. I watched the movie and liked it, so I decided to read the book too and I fell in love with it. After that I read all of Jane Austen's novels and watched all the adaptations I could find. I don't really have a favourite genre, whether it's books or tv shows or movies. As long as I find it interesting and I like the characters, I'm in! The first recs that come to mind are, definitely, North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell and its 2004 miniseries adaptation by BBC with Richard Armitage, both among my absolute favourite books and adaptations. Howl's Moving Castle is a book I really loved, the Ghibli movie is also very lovely, though quite different from the book. As for tv shows, I'd say Friends, Doctor Who (particularly the 10th Doctor era), The Crown, Brooklyn 99, Gentleman Jack, BBC Miranda, Fringe and of course all the Jane Austen adaptations are worth a watch. I'm not a big movie watcher, I usually prefer tv shows, but I guess if I had to recommend some I'd say Inception, Shutter Island, Zootopia for the animated ones, and I'm sure I forgot a lot of good movies I've watched and loved. So first of all: I have fallen love with your edits especially Pride and Prejudice and Emma. And second of all: I have read you're italian and I started to learn italian about half a year ago and so far it is going very well (we're learning of school related things)and I don’t know if it will be much harder in the future,and (I know it is an odd query)my question is: How hard do you think it is to learn italian? (for example:grammatical part, past tense, future tense, etc.) Thank you in advance for your reply! P.S. I love that kind of humor you represent :D

Have you always had the idea of uploading videos to KZbin or is it something you decided to try more recently? Also, did you always want to make video edits of movies / tv shows, or did you originally have a different idea for the channel in mind? Sorry if this doesn’t make make sense 😅 much love 💜

The channel was born 10 years ago, but I only uploaded for the very first time 1 year later. It was a fanvid with Nick and Jess from New Girl. I liked to watch fanvideos made by other people but I often ended up thinking "I would like to see this couple edited to this song" and one day I just thought "Why don't I try making the videos I want myself?" And that's how it all started. I didn't know if I was going to be any good at it, but in the end it turned out better than I ever thought it would! I hope that answers your questions! :)

Ti rispondo in inglese, così anche altri possono capire le risposte, spero vada bene. :) Most beautiful city I've visited: Unfortunately, I have travelled very little in my life so far, partly because I'm not a fan of flying, but I really liked London, even though I only stayed there for less than 48 hours, and Rome is like a second home to me for a series of reasons. Favourite tv shows and books: Okay so, Friends for the fave tv show and Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion for fave books, though there are other books I loved a lot. How I came to love period dramas: All thanks to Jane Austen, the one and only! xD I was around 16 or 17 when I found out about P&P, I read the book, watched the 2005 movie that had come out very recently (Yeah, I'm old LOL) and it was love! From then on I read all her completed novels and started watching all the adaptations I could find, and then I watched North and South 2004 and another big love story for book and adaptation began, and that's basically how I fell in love with period dramas. Fave P&P adaptation: I have watched pretty much all of them, but the one I prefer is the 1995 BBC miniseries (you can find a more detailed explanation as to why in my answer to the user Easy English, who asked the same question). @@chiaratippy I've never been in London, but I visited Rome and it's beautiful. I never saw Friends, and I don't think I ever will. I didn't like the 2005 P&P movie (btw, you're not old), but I have never heard of North and South, what is it about? @@elisasanguinetti5639 Teenage me really liked the 2005 movie and I find it an enjoyable retelling even now, but it's not the book and it's not the 1995 miniseries. I totally recommend North and South, both book and miniseries! It's n industrial novel that deals with the condition of the workers in the industrial cities of England and the clash between social classes and between the North and the South, represented by the two main protagonists, Margaret, a young girl from the South and Mr. Thornton, a young man and factory owner from the North. They have a relationship that kinda resembles Elizabeth and Darcy's dynamic of prejudice and pride and then of course of realization of the mistakes committed and eventually love.

What tools do you use to edit the video? And which one do you prefer of all the pride and prejudice versions (old to new ones)? And sorry one more question, what do you do to become fluent in English? I thought that you were a native

I use Sony Vegas, I think the version I have right now is SV 17. The captions you see in the P&P humour videos I insert directly from SV, while all the silly effects are not included in the software, I took them from the internet, most of them right here on YT. My favourite P&P adaptation of the ones made so far is the 1995 one. I think overall is the most accurate and closest to story, characters and tone of the book. The ones from 1940, 1980 and 2005 have their merits but have much more evident flaws than the 1995 one, at least as far as I'm concerned. P&P 1995 has its own flaws of course, but I think is the only one that managed to be thoroughly enjoyable without straying far from the book. The fact you thought I was a native makes me very happy!

i make a difficult question... when you create a video do you let yourself be guided by a song that maybe you have heard on the radio or in some TV show or do you first imagine the scenes to use?

Okay, so... Usually, it all starts with the song, it has to be the right song that makes me go "This one would be perfect for this couple/friendship/character/show/movie!" I'm really picky when it comes to songs, so even if I think "I would like to vid this couple/character/etc." first but don't find the right one, then you can be 95% sure I will never make that video. Once I've found the song, then I usually let myself be guided by the lyrics for which scenes to use and where to place them and by the song's music for the editing.

I don't have any plans for other P&P videos as of right now, but I might do more in the future, who knows! I planned on making other silly humour videos with other period dramas and Austen adaptations but due to some health issues I can't spend as much time at my desk as I used to. I have actually had a Wentworth from Persuasion 2007 humour video ready for almost a year now, but I'm not sure if or when I'll upload it. I've liked a lot of shows throughout the years, but I think Friends is probably my favourite. When it comes to period dramas, I liked almost all Jane Austen adaptations. I also recommend North and South 2004, BBC miniseries adaptation of the novel by Elizabeth Gaskell. You can also get an idea of some of the shows I watch and like if you take a look at my channel and the videos I've uploaded during these 10 years. :)

How do you remove the music from the clips?

You just have to get your movie or tv shows with a 6 channel audio, and remove the channel with the background music using an editing software like sony vegas and the likes.

I just discovered your channel TODAY, November 18, 2022. I laughed until I cried at your captions on PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. I've been binge watching the 1940 film, 1980s miniseries, 1995 miniseries, and the 2005 movie. My overall favorite film adaptation is the 1940 Greer Garson/Laurence Olivier movie, but I love Macfadyen's Darcy! The Colin Firth Darcy is given more face time on camera, and I like his eyes. Do you like the 1940 film adaptation? I enjoy it because the comedy is well done, and Lady Catherine is a more sympathetic character than in the book. Besides, Greer Garson is just elegant no matter what she does. I could go on and on, but I just wanted to tell you that you gave me a good laugh today!!!! Keep it up!

I have not seen Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and I'm not sure I ever will. Zombies have never been my cup of tea and P&P mixed with zombies is just a no for me. I mean, who knows, maybe one day I'll be taken by curiosity and will actually watch it but, knowing myself, the possibilities of me enjoying it are not very high. Against all odds, I did. Maybe it's because I had very low expectations, but Emma. 2020 turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I just wish they had made it last even only 10 minutes more so that the story could breathe more towards the end and be closer to the book. But yeah, on the whole I found it a very nice modern retelling. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy my silly humour and my editing both!

I haven't watched Bridgerton and I don't plan to watch it. Same for the books, I don't plan on reading them. I've read opinions and consulted some friends who have watched the tv show and/or read the books and they only strengthened my lack of interest in it. I occasionally read period romances, some I even enjoyed, but this series just isn't for me, I think.
