The girls were wonderful and funny and exactly who they always are, but I do think they should probably think about the microphones. I'm not upset or trying to be critical, but it was hard to hear what they were saying. But it is always fun to see these dancers just relaxing and having a good time.
@beezie78863 ай бұрын
I agree! If they do more of these, I'd like to see an improvement in the audio quality.
@miaow8670Ай бұрын
I actually find it quite interesting because it was mostly Maya only was playing with the microphone, and similar kinds of "small gestures", like playing with your microphone, pencil, phone, or whatever you're holding in your hand signify that you're nervous, that you feel uneasy or tense. These gestures are performed like half-unwittingly and they're a strategy to calm yourself down, even if you don't seem nervous outwardly. Shaking legs while sitting is another common one. Pragmatics has a name for these gestures, "adaptors", because they help us get adapted and grounded in a tense situation. I wonder if it is because Maya isn't exactly very social and/or just doesn't feel fully relaxed at a recorded interview like this.

I know a ballet dancer who utilized her flexibility in Karate and AND JIU JITSU. She knew some serious ways to dislocate people's arms or completely choke you!. OMG. And yes she also did Kick boxing!!! I watched her demonstrate it on people and she could COMPLETELY CONTROL YOU no matter how hard you tried to fight back. Jiu Jitsu is SCARY. She stopped a guy bullying somebody at school.

For all the complaints about Maya fidgeting with the mic, go back & watch closely-there were times when there was background noise when none of the girls were messing with the mic, so it could have been the interviewer accidentally causing the noise or the camera shaking some how. Also, Maya seems shy, so her not talking isn't about Melanie talking over her. She's just quiet. And lastly, this is a casual interview meant for fun, so it isn't perfect. Relax & appreciate that they took time to answer the questions instead of complaining about everything.

For those of you who keep complaining about the noise, yall gotta be nicer. They are young ladies trying to have fun in between classes and trainings to provide some content. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Simple as that. If you want to provide constructive feedback, do it nicely. It really doesn’t hurt to just phrase your sentence in a kind manner. They may not be kids anymore, but they’re still new young adults. Maybe it’s just their personality and are nervous putting themselves in the limelight, doing things outside of their comfort zone or are just trying to have fun. They’re not professional KZbinrs or videographers. They’re professional ballerinas. So don’t expect them to know why to do and what not to do. If it doesn’t please you then stop wasting your life and energy commenting meanly and just move on.

I’d love it if one of you girls could do a “thrown” grande jete with your partner! I don’t think that is the actual term but basically you jete and your partner throws you up into the air as you leap and then he catches you on the way down and helps you land safely. It’s not a lift! It’s a “throw” and a “catch” and down! Straight into another “thrown” grande jete. And even 3X’s if you have room! It’s not hard! But PRETTY! And really fun! Maybe in spare time you could ask Michael to try it!

My mom is 91. She was a ballerina/dancer all her life i was ballerina until my knees took me out. I had battles with weight too when my sister passed away last October. I spent eight months there and all she does is watch ballet on KZbin we’ve had so many conversations about Swan Lake. We are not unseasoned dancers, and we still can’t figure it out. I mean, think about it. This man is dancing with a bird. I guess it takes 91 to get real.

You can dish out constructive criticism without bringing these young ladies down and calling their professionalism into question. I don't know if you've noticed, but they're clearly in a CASUAL interview so they're allowed to be informal. Stop being uptight, you sound like a bitter old hag.
