Loved this! Years ago I watched a KZbin channel where a guy was converting a standard day-cab truck into a inherent dump truck. A comment or chastised the project by not having a more sturdy than 12,000# axle, suspensions, and tires of a genuine inherent dump truck. 1990 Ford L8000 that l last drove had a 11-foot steel frame bed and 13,250# GVWR for the front axle and "H" load tires. Ever since then, I keep my eye out when I drive straight-frsnr

You should talk about the speed rating. In nj guys running these 315s Are blowing constantly!!

Each tire company has a different speed rating.

12 's are used front and back on almost all garbage trucks along with passenger buses
@TruxasSales4 жыл бұрын
Most I have seen are 315's front and dual on the rear of those trucks.
@jerrykinnin7941 Жыл бұрын
Size the steer tires to the suspension. A 425 is a 20,000 lb a set load rating. If you only have a 12000 lb front end. The won't help you. So size your tires to your suspension capacity.
@TruxasSales Жыл бұрын
heavy duty tires are just that heavy duty and should last longer and be less likley to blow out. look at buses most run all 10lb 315's

Nice video! I remember I used to think all trucks tires including box trucks, semis, cement mixers, etc had the same tire width and height. I totally am wrong. Can those 425s be used on a garbage truck? Or a semi?
@TruxasSales3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but twin steering boxes are recommended.

I am running 425's in the front / and 11R in the back. I found a good deal on 10R 22.5 . Can I safely change over to all 10R in the back? speed discrepancy or fuel mileage does not concern me. Great video thank you.

Yes you can

What tires would you run. IF you wanted to run singles on all axles? Thus having all the same size? I know years ago on our Tri-Axles in Tn. We ran 11R24.5's all around and singles on the third axle. I was running an GMC that I could haul over 26 tons on. That was a money making truck. Thinking about a Tri-axle again. And want its empty weight as low as it can go. So that's the reason behind the Super Singles.
@TruxasSales6 жыл бұрын
You would want the 425 80R22.5 if you wanted all the tires the same size on the steer axle as on the drive axles. Using 425's on the drive axles does create lower traction than standard dual tires, but you can get a softer ride with the 425's. There are also some specialized super singles that are even bigger that crane trucks run, but they are even more money, $1500-$2500. I have seen people put 445's on the front axle but I don't think any manufacture recommends that.

Hey man! I have a 2007 CV713 with 425’s in the front. 18k axel and only one gear box. 425’s are not good? What is the smallest tire I can put there?
@TruxasSales Жыл бұрын
there a super single steering boxes that are extra power that could handle them. if its 18k from the factory its likly a big single steering box
