Is there more advantage for Canada citizens to apply for Ivy colleges than international students who study in Canada high school? Many thanks.

can't a computer just calculate test/iq scores? why do human admissions officers still exist? and.. what's the point of college? they don't pay well for all the work you have to perform.

Bro a smart human is not just a valedictorian who have perfect SAT or ACT scores, who only knows how to study well and get straights As in a row, just a machine of perfection, a human is a human, not a machine, and a computer or an ai by any mean, can't decide whether that person is smarter than that person, nor a human can do, but still, admission officers are humans, have memories, experiences, can feel the applicant while reading his application, which a machine cannot do, this is why their role is crucial + Well colleges still exist because they are somehow essential for pre qualification in the majority of countries, and sometimes the tools provided by a college cannot be foudn somewhere else to be more creative and productive. + Unis do not admit students based solely on whether they are smart or stupid.

@@imaginationpictures correct, humans aren't machines which is why admissions is biased. also, they don't have the capacity to 'get to know' everyone on a human level so they're left with test scores as the only objective measure of a person's ability. now we know that under affirmative action they were admitting people based on race rather than academic achievement. do you think they should use skin color as a valid metric or should we move it on over to iq?

@@_xBrokenxDreamsx_ Yeah true ur right, well, I believe an admission officer must be someone who read each application with care, regardless of their massive volume, maybe the decision dates may be delayed, and I think, what if unis make an admission as a compeition? Like, a very fair competition where only who deserve to get admitted will get there, like smthg more than just grades and SATs etc...

@@imaginationpictures anyone can lie to make themselves look good on an application. if we aren't using the 10+ years of objective academic results then what's the point?
@imaginationpictures Жыл бұрын
@@_xBrokenxDreamsx_ Yes true but bro, it's easy and obvious to know if someone lies or no, and easier if there are interviews + trust me admission officers really can tell an authentic and a non authentic application
