Jessica, I'm sorry to hear that you've been hurt and upset over people's comments. I'm glad you've scaled that mountain and feel less affected by criticism. I was never called to motherhood, live in a city and don't really live a faith based life, but I have tremendous respect for how you've dedicated your life to your faith and your children. I also admire your journey towards "mostly" self-reliance on your homestead.

@@Thisisit120 Thank you for your kind words, but to be honest, I realized a long time ago I was maybe a little too selfish to be a good mom. I liked my time for myself. Plus the opportunity never really presented itself. However, I do so admire parents like Jessica and Adam who are devoted to their children and I think it's great to see people going "back to the land" and becoming more independent and self-reliant with homesteads, homeschooling etc. I think it's a positive trend. It may not be for everyone, but for those who wish to embark on this lifestyle, Jessica and her family are great examples. ❤️

Jessica, As a mother of 9, I have heard it all…..and I learned to just not hear what was being said. My children are all grown now, my youngest son is 51. I have 26 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. I have been blessed. Things have not all been rosy. I lost my youngest daughter 5 years ago to cancer, and I have lost 4 grandchildren. Absolutely devastating. But, life goes on, and I have been truly blessed. Of my 9, I had 5 sons, 4 daughters (2 sets of twins). I gardened, I froze food, I canned, and when the children were a little older, I hunted. (I was brought up beside my grandparents, and learned how to be self-sufficient.) I am going to be 80 in a few short months, and give praises to our God daily. Because of arthritis, I stopped canning this last year (missed it something terribly) and am facing knee replacement next month. But I’m turning all my canning equipment to one of my granddaughters, she is only doing water bath canning now….I will give her my American Canner, and jars, and my larger dehydrator. She will do fine. Jessica and Adam, thank you so much for the Q and A session. It was lovely. I have watched many of your vlogs, and will continue to do so. God bless you both and your lovely family. My father just turned 80 and had his knee replaced for the first time. Went wonderful! He didn't take the pain meds they prescribed just Tylenol. And he recovered so fast. He's going in next month for his other knee. Best of luck Bev! Thank you for sharing your story!

Similar story. Became a Christian during COVID after a very tumultuous childhood and teen years. Raised in a secular home. Was upset with God like why couldn't I have been raised in a Christian home with loving God fearing parents ? But I know God has a reason and I'm just glad he choose to save me when he did. I just turned 73 years old. My husband and I were blessed with one child. She is grown and married with two daughters. We live a rural life and I cook from scratch every meal we eat. I raise most of our food except for grains. It’s a busy life and an enjoyable life. I have to tell you that when I started watching your channel, I was surprised by all you have taught me. You inspire me to do more, to use my time wisely, as a Proverbs 31 wife. I told my husband that it’s a little embarrassing but you are my friend. Most of my friends don’t live as we do, don’t garden or can and dehydrate. I’m shocked honestly that so few women do those things, don’t sew or even try to live frugally. I appreciate all that you do and love hearing your thoughts on the why’s of life. God has blessed you all greatly. May He continue to do so.

Judgement is a part of life. Judgement helps people to discern what will work for them. We are all constantly judging actions and situations so we can learn. We all do have our own experience and just because you disagree does not imply disrespect. It is useful to share alternative viewpoints so we can all grow. KZbin is a worldwide community, so the guarantee is that you will find pluralism and vast diverging views. I don't quite understand why that would surprise you.

I just found your channel the other day and I have enjoyed the few videos I watched......You brought me back in time. I had my 8th child when I was two weeks shy of turning 43 ...She is now 14 years old...The time has gone so fast that I wish I could go back and enjoy more moments.......In our beginning , we were trying to home school in a world that didn't understand what we were doing so there was a lot of pressure and criticism....The only thing that I could say is that I felt called to do it but it was tough feeling judged even by people in the church we attended.......You appear to be a very loving and devoted family so all I can say is keep doing YOU because this world needs to see what a healthy family was intended to be....Thank you for opening up about your journey.....I think you will encourage others to believe that they can do it too.

Such a fun Q and A. My husband and I often joke about being empty nesters....or rather, that we will never be empty nesters because we've had children late into our 40s. We have twelve children. We had baby #11 at 42 and 44, then we had baby #12 at 46 and 48. And now we have 11 grandchildren so far. We will always have children and grandchildren around. And we're so thankful about that.

I'm a few years older than you guys and I am still learning about canning and preserving food! I am also learning breadmaking and a few other things I should have learned when I was younger! The main thing I was thinking as I was watching the last segment about your critics... You do you! No one else is walking in your shoes! You have to make the decisions for your lives and your family. No one else can do that for you! Please, Jessica, Please, don't let other's opinions bother you!! Trust God and know you are exactly where HE wants you to be! I lost my oldest son March 2017. He was 28. No one can go through the grief for me. I have to do it alone. Yes, I have had family and friends try to help me through it but God alone has helped me! No one person can do it for me. No one else has ever walked exactly where I have walked. No one has the right to tell me how to grieve. Same for you! No one has any right to tell you to live your life one way or another! Follow God's lead and keep doing what you and Adam think is right for you and your family! Hugs!! God bless!!

I am 52 and all my kids are adults but man if I had an example like you when I was young…I would’ve been a force for God! Keep it up! You are the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. Keep your eyes on Jesus, He will always come through. May God Bless you and your family this coming year! ❤️

Jessica, I love the way you look at Adam. You can tell how much love is between the two of you. Keep being strong and amazing. Let the haters hate and rise above and teach your children to the best them they can be. You are great role models.

Not sure which university Adam is employed, but having 100% tuition paid, plus other expenses, is amazing. Most universities only reduce the tuition for an employee's dependent(s)by 50-90%. Which is subject to the employee's time of hire, with books and other fees costing extra. Kudos to you both for letting your children decide for themselves whether or not they want to pursue a college education.

Jessica & Adam, Thank you for sharing your views on how you live and why you have made some of the decisions in your life. I recently discovered your channel and am enjoying learning some new recipes along with your encouragement with the Every Bit Counts challenge. This kind of video scratches that curiosity itch, and I can appreciate where you are coming from more now. Not everyone has to agree on all fronts to make life better. Keep up the great work, if that is your desire. I'll be here for more great recipes! We are trying your apple fritter recipe tonight as it's my fiance's favorite treat and the apples are starting to fall from the trees.

Jessica, you and Adam seem to make sensible, loving decisions that work for your family. You seem to have a wonderful family unit and it’s clear that you work really hard. While our beliefs are different, you do seem to be living your life and raising your family in a way that promotes a loving Christianity that Christ would support. Happy New Year! Looking forward to the pantry challenge!

That is an awesome trade with the Smoothie shop. I am sure the chickens are very appreciative for the good stuff. You guys are great parents. The kids are such a big help. That is the way they should be. Your homestead benefits all of you. Cant wait till spring to see how you do the garden. Dont ever worry about the naysayers. Too many mean rude people. Country living is the best.

I am fairly new to your channel. Probably started within 2022. Jessica, you are AMAZING. Your last childbirth video showcases your strength, faith, and love for your family better than any other. No one is perfect, aside from God of course. You are a wonderful example of a godly woman. Thank you for overcoming the silly criticisms out here in KZbinland. I appreciate your channel very much.

The two of you are awesome. I appreciate your videos on sharing your life with us. A good husband always has his wife's best interests at heart ❤️, and him being upset when you are hurting is a sign of deep love. The folks that are negative....need prayers, not our worry.

I cannot understand people who are so critical. There's a time to be critical but this is not it. I admire and think you're doing so wonderful. You have a beautiful family. You got it together. I always wanted a lot of children. The God only bless me with 2. After the 2nd one the doctor said no more. So you are blessed. Happy New Year. So glad to see Adam. Jesus loves you. Not every child is set up to go to college. There's always fo Tech. Schools. We need mechanics we need plumbers electricians builders. Machines. Welders. Cooks. Nurse.

I'm so glad and thankful that you didn't quit. My daughter has food allergies and some other stomach issues. And my son is neutropenic (drs can't figure out why) The stuff I have learned from you has allowed my daughter to start eating again. She had lost so much weight because she was scared of getting sick. And changing out diets away from all the processed food has helped heal my sons immune system. He still gets sick but we no longer in up in the hospital every time. I am no longer wondering every day when will the sickness be to much for his little body and living everyday in fear that a common cold will kill him. Your channel has been a huge blessing to our family. If the haters are every getting in your head please remember you have changed our lives for the better. You have been a blessing to this family of 6. I pray for you and your family. May you have a happy New Year

I just love to watch you two together, to watch how you interact with each other and talk about the plans you have for your family. We're a couple steps behind you, our oldest just started school, and it's so encouraging and challenging to see a couple so faithfully pursue what God has for your family, even in the normal, mundane everyday. Thank you for being willing to post your life on the internet, God has used it to grow me in mine.

You are a blessing to me! I look forward to your videos and don’t miss one. I live a lifestyle similar to yours. The only difference is that we (in ignorance) chose to limit our family to 4 kids. Watching you makes me feel not as alone in this lifestyle because as homesteaders/homeschoolers our lives are so different than most people we encounter. It’s nice not to feel like the weirdo when I watch you 😊
