Zack, that 50% o0ss at the beginning may also be partially clumsiness on the part of the person watching. If you open subscriptions in KZbin and view All, there is a danger that the mouse might trigger the Vlog it was hovering over when in fact the user was intending to go elsewhere. I do it often, so maybe not CSI's fault.

Yeah I was wondering how auto play on mouse over/scroll might affect that, combined with people who are interested, but look at how long the video is after clicking on it and decide to wait until later.

Yeah those people clicking off in the first few seconds are like oh it’s over an hour. Do that myself all the time, but will always add it to my watch later list and watch it when I have time. I expect that’s why it’s nearly at 50%, because most people can’t just click on a video that long and just watch it. Needs to be done at certain times.

Thank you for the great videos. And thank you for NOT cutting out breath pauses. I find it impossible to focus on people who talk without pause and always in the same time of voice. It's not a question of speed but of accentuation. So thank you for keeping the proper pauses. Interesting also how you said that intentional pauses help with video content.

I really enjoy your videos and presentation style; even the odd skit is fun. The in-depth and thorough investigations helps viewers learn and understand the amazing complexities involved in the space industry. RE: the fluid contamination, would this not be an issue with starship as well and therefore be an issue once the ship does a Lunar or Mars landing? RE: kidnappings, I know Jack Beyer is around Starbase all the time, maybe he might be a good intel source (NSF collaboration). RE: CSI= Commercial Space Investigations?

Hello Zack, THX for this kind of Q&A. Regrading ice in front of the inlets. Why SpaceX don't use the somehow the same method as it is on airplanes? On each flight at 10km you've minus degrees outside and the water in the fueltanks of an airplane turns into ice and would block the inlet pipe to the jetengines (very, very simple explained). By airplains it's called fuel-oil heat exchanger (FOHE). The story to find is by keywords AIR CRASH INVESTIGATION: The Heathrow Enigma | British Airways Boeing 777 crashes at London Heathrow | MAYDAY. Instead of missing oil, electic generated heat may help here out. Sorry for my bad English, I'm German. Kind regards and please continue. I like to see your thoughts.😀

The way YT works on my TV, a new recommended video start playing about 15 sec. after watching another video whether the viewer wanted to watch it or not. Because of that, I can see why the YT stats show a drop off on most videos after the first minute. Like Zach said, a lot of times if I’m interested in the new video, I’ll stop, save and go back to watch it later.

Hi Zach, A very enjoyable live stream to watch. Some improvement points: change the lighting. You are one with the background. Use different background lighting and foreground lighting to see you better. The wither light from the window is too bright and not pleasant to look at. This also darkens the artwork tiles. Maybe some additional help from someone in the background who curates the questions for you. That way you can more interact with your viewers. Keep up your excellent work. I love your channel and the content you create! Lot’s of greetings, Dennis 🇳🇱

01:04:01 Your pauses in Your speaking are important. Especially if talking about complicated stuff, pauses are neccesary to understand something that is new to me. If someone gives a "speech" I start sleeping at the screen! At the end I know there was a general topic but the details are completely lost.

Hi Zack, I really enjoy all the videos - including the skits! Humor is good. I especially like how you use your mechanical engineering background for indepth speculations. I'm 69 years young and remember Mercury/Gemini/Apollo. When Shuttle came along, I kinda lost interest in space related things because they weren't going anywhere - only to LEO. Now that Luna and Mars are/might be in the future for peopled missions, its more interesting! Too bad you can't change the name of your channel to SI Starbase - Special Investigations Starbase. Keep up the great work! 😀👍👍

Maybe make a poll again on X about it? Since people always react much stronger on negative emotion and not on positive you'll never get the correct feedback just by comments, and with youtube algo you have no idea what you get anyway...

@@CSIStarbase Any link to discussion? Or maybe a new video. Should be able to stop any oscillation as long as input control can drive that frequency. They probably need a map of input shaping coefficients depending on chopsticks height, maybe 2D map with initial XY position as well.

Keep keeping it real, man! Including rolling with the natural vocal pauses. I for one am super tired of the breathless editing style, which is kind of spiritual kin to constant pitch correction in singing. I’d much rather listen to a real human voice taking real human breaths.
