I remember one morning getting ready for a job interview shortly after my husband and I separated..... I looked in the mirror and I said to myself "There you are " .... it's been a while since I,ve seen you." At that point I knew I was finding myself again. That was a profound moment for me and knowing I'd have the strength to move on. I knew I had to for me and my children.'.... and I did. Thank you for sharing your words of life ...It's like having coffee with a friend

I love every bit of you. I see myself in you… in 2018 (blended family) my 2nd husband literally packed up his RV and drove away and had me served. In all fairness our life was just not working for anyone through the feeling of being rejected was so incredibly painful. I used the time to “get myself together” dropping 30 pounds and learning how to do make up and hair and all the things I love doing when I was in high school. I 55 a start of my life over. I bought my husband out of our family home and I have been making it on my own since that time… I love learning how to maintain my house and have numerous hobbies and yes a new boyfriend. You spoke about needing connection. Today I have a wonderful connection with him and my two sons. God does for us what we couldn’t do for ourselves… You are blessed… And yes you are bold… I know that you know that. I love you Dominique. Thank you for being YOU. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us. I love learning from you. XO

i really liked that you were asked and talked about being alone, staying alone for a bigger time period. I don't think it is talked about enough how powerful and great this time can be. I think a lot of people are really scared to be alone, but there is a lot to learn once you get together with yourself. I left home when I was 18, move to a different country with no relatives and friends, had no boyfriend, moved to a different language, different culture and I was not even a proper adult, and I am very proud of myself and I know I am strong, creative and can survive and thrive without any outside help! Whoever is reading this or needing this: you can do it, you are stronger than you think, and it will teach you, and you'll be better! Trust the process!

I have always liked being alone, not lonely at all...some people think it is reclusive or even stuck up. My husband understands I need alone time and it is not a reflection on him, its how I recharge. I come from a family of 7 so being alone was hard to do. I love how you are progressing through this upheaval in your life with such grace and the ability to share with us as well. Love that you are loving your life !

I relate very much to your assessment of being newly single and appreciating having your own space, time, music, food in the fridge. Even when I was married, I used to say I really wanted my own apartment. I promised I would show up every morning and take care of the kids! I promised to do all the wifely things, I just wanted my own space so much. It made my husband laugh, but honestly, I really wasn't kidding. I think a lot of women want to retain ownership of their own lives on some level, acknowledge their own selves and what they love, I'm sure I'm not saying this right. But that resonated with me. I look forward to your book!

I was married for 24 years with that person for 26 years. I was married at 19. I was alone with the exception of my time with my child. Learned to cherish that time, found out who I was, became immersed in my faith. Figuring out what I liked, what was enjoyable for me, to have friends, to sleep and slept well knowing in that place was safety, both physically and mentally. It was hard at times, but was totally worth it.

I've been contemplating career change fir 4 years. I am 59 and have been finishing my bachelor's through a college in my area. It can be challenging but the things I have learned are things I wouldn't have been knowledgeable about had I not got back into school. Change is good if you feel stagnant. I had a direction till the pandemic hit, but I'm still going forward knowing what I'm meant to do will come in at the right time. Source (God), whatever you call it, is always listening. You just havecto plug in so to speak and be aligned to "hear" or be shone what to do.🥰💗💗💗💗 Positive energy ✨️ sent to anyone in my situation who thinks it's "too late".

In listening to your comments on hair and “hair trauma, made me smile. I have never wanted short hair, even though I love your hair style and realize how much time it would save in my daily hair schedule. MY Mother always kept my hair short because I was one of 5 children and she was always so busy that short hair was so much easier for her. I remember saying to myself that when I was old enough to take care of my hair myself, I was going to let it grow! I had waist length hair in my teens, and now could never think of cutting shorter than just above the shoulder. It is exactly as you said, - HAIR TRAUMA!

Dominique, I'm someone who loves being by myself. I have to check myself sometimes, or I will isolate too much. My peace and quiet in my home is Zen for me. I know many women who are terrified of not being in a relationship. I wish they could understand the empowerment that comes with being on your own. I too think home ownership is overrated. Maintenance on a home can eat up a lot of money, and it's always something.

It really is something how things fall into place when you listen to that "little voice" inside. I've had two very specific times in my life where, looking back, I'm just amazed at how things worked out because I took a leap (against what I absolutely would have chosen for myself) and trusted in the Lord. The most recent time was this past fall. I couldn't see the reason then, but I do now. As you said - it started with a small "stirring" that got louder and more frequent as time went on. I eventually couldn't ignore it anymore, and I'm so thankful.

You are truly magnificant. Your life journeys even your caves of grief bring such hope to so many of us. I lost my college love through sudden passing..me too my poems glide me through my caves of grief. I love being alone too...where I can face good and difficult times. Bless you as you encourage us all.

Thank you Dominique for such a candid & sincere feedback. Loved all the answers but the one that hit home for me was the last one. Listen to your heart, do not sabotage your dreams & aspirations because of fear. I am 72,and was an avid traveller up until COVID hit us bad 2 yrs ago up here in Quebec. This past February I had booked an art workshop before the Ukraine crises and our 6th wave. I felt pangs of guilt and mixed feelings about going to France. I was up last night googling car rentals and hotels for an extended stay. My friends think I’m bordering on foolishness and bravery. I just feel I have to get out of town and paint poppies. Che sera sera! Bless you and keep on believing in yourself , because I strongly believe we are all channels of His peace & light.

I'm a widow trying to navigate my 'new' reality, and 3) I'm so looking forward to receiving my audio book.

Wow Dominique!!! I feel like you were talking to me (and I didn't even send in a question). I have just cut off all my hair. I'm 58 years old. Have had long or shoulder length hair for most of my life. Just had it cut into a pixie/bob. I do love it. Just trying to get used to products and styling. Thank you so much for your previous videos on blow drying, etc. I frequent them often. Thank you for talking to the young moms out there. Motherhood is difficult. I feel society has recently placed a lot of pressure on new moms. All moms need to be less hard on themselves "show yourself grace". It's also the most rewarding job. Thank you for all your insight. Blessings to you.

I was watching one of your KZbin videos last week and you talked a lot about “self care” this resonated with me a lot and I have not stopped thinking about this. I care for many people (elderly neighbours, children, husband, animals, etc). as many women do and I have not looked after myself well (overweight, not taking pride in what I look like and wear). I am changing all this and the word self care is always in my head now. Thank you so much, you are so inspiring in such a wonderful positive way.

When I retired someone told me to treat the day as if you are going to work. Get up, shower, fix hair and makeup or tinted sunscreen. That way if something happens and you need to go out…you are ready. Plus you just feel better and can do what you need to do in clothes 😁❤️

The opposite of fear is LOVE ….I am glad that you encourage us to find the light that we have and do good for others and ourselves. Very happy that in your process you get to know yourself better. If we don’t know ourselves to a degree, how can we understand ourselves and improve ourselves like human beings! “We are only us and our circumstances”. I hope that your son is as peaceful and happy as you are. Cast love and grace and not guilt! Try to be our children best friends! Teach our children, believe in them so that they know that we trust them. And LISTEN to them.. Thank you Dominique ❤

When someone asks you how you deal with being alone the 1st thing that popped into my head was she has to be an only child. I've never heard you talk about a sibling and being an only child myself, I know being alone is not a tragedy. We were an AF couple when we first married and when the guys were gone for over 3 months, I was the only wife that didn't have to have something going on all the time.

Dominique 🤗💖💐 “..that voice, is the reason why..” I felt the same for past three years and I haven’t had listening to it, until I have reached the end point of, enough; I am done with it, in spite of the costs that came with exhaustion and burned out. Thank God, I have decided to resist the pain, even if wasn’t the right time, but in all the troubles I have discovered myself of what/ where and when I have to decide how to change the course, before it would have killed the best part of myself; strength and belief. Thank you 🙏

I always appreciate how your at ease when answering some of our questions. Thank you for being so transparent with your subscribers and fans. Will the audio version be available on the same day as the book launch? I would love to listen to it as well while I go on my afternoon walk’s. Have you thought of doing more life vlogs during your monthly video uploads. I’m so glad you always bring up self care and Gods love in your life. Since the pandemic 😷 I have re-evaluated my life. Less make up and more time for myself. While my son is going through his chemotherapy treatment it’s added a layer of redefining moment in my life. But I was able to gravitate toward God and re engage and adapt to the new normal while being a care giver. Can’t wait for the book Dominique. Stay fabulous and enjoy your day. Aloha from Hawaii.

Not that I don’t like meeting up with my friends for lunch, shopping, etc., but I certainly have no problem with time to myself. You just confirmed that it’s ok! Your videos have always touched on topics that matter to us as women and now this book will give us more! This is an exciting time! Thanks, Dominique. Your videos always feel as if you're being with a friend who understands and supports you. About thinning hair: I started following the Wim Hof (Iceman) method about a year ago. It's about cold exposure (cold showers/icebaths). I don't do the icebaths, but do turn off the hot tap, after I've showered, for several minutes. It's freezing cold at the moment, but the cold water on my head reduced the hair-loss significantly! About changing career after 40: Yes. Go for it! I recently turned 59, and changed my career last October (and 3,5 years before that too, and 4 years before that as well). Go with the flow and keep an open eye and mind to opportunities!

One thing I’ve learned about myself is that my hair will always change. Lived most of my life with long hair. Cut it short about 9 years ago to a pixie. I also quit covering my grays over 3 years ago and have salt/pepper hair. Now at almost 55, I’m growing it out a smidge. Dominique, I’m getting some hair ideas from your videos. 😉
