My husband of 33 years left our marriage in 2020. He was having as affair with another woman from his office. He was CEO-she was Exec Secretary. They are still together. We both were surrounded by friends who are in long term relationships. Both sets of our parents had long time marriages. So many people around us said they could never have predicted that we would be divorcing. I always believed we could work on things and get back together. But he left without ever wanting to discuss the pain, or the problems we had within the relationship. I did delve into the work that I needed to do on myself. Lots of counselling, so much reading, prayer, trust and self-inspection. I have recently met an amazing man. He loves me in a way I never knew was possible. I think God for the journey. I would never have left on my own. God moves things out of the way that no longer serve you.

These are wonderful (counterpoint) examples to the negative messages that bombard youth today. I don’t remember a time that can overwhelms one, before even getting started in the journey of life. Learning emotional regulation for each of us is so important. Here shows adults and older kids they could be empowered to their goals and desire’s . With self awareness and an attitude that they are truly their best friend. Seeking and reflecting on the best for themselves.

My mother kept us jumping in an attempt to please her entire lives and I only realized it at 54 years old, I dropped a fork on the floor and I heard that click of the tongue with that disapproving sound. I immediately changed my reaction, and that resets your body programming from childhood, when you just take a breath and sit for a moment... and had a huge Revelation that that is why I always gave 90% in a relationship LOL without ever being asked to do anything in particular, I would jump to it and go above and beyond. Hypervigilance occurs so you don't even get to really experience or remember or be fully present for your own childhood when you are constantly reacting to a parent's high level of anxiety or disapproval. So grateful for all of it, and I know exactly why I chose my parents and family members and experiences in this lifetime to teach me about myself❤

I LOVED 99% of the interview with Dr. Swart but I wanted to call out the ageism that comes out of nowhere when she says "depending on how old you are, people find you attractive." All women especially need to expurgate ageism from their minds. Women are found attractive at 80, 90, there is NO AGE LIMIT on being beautiful. Thanks.
@mahalie235 ай бұрын
100% agree and winced at that as well. Wondered if perhaps (hopefully) she simply meant there are fewer single options as you age. Or perhaps, let’s be real, there is neuroscience behind sexual attraction to women who are past child bearing age. Biology is a thing 😒 either way an elaboration would be nice!

Age has a huge part to play Thats why most people Especially women wish to look younger than they are You are blind siding yourself Be fully aware of the narrative
@bosedeenyiema72655 ай бұрын
I like that Dr. Swart insinuated that men in general are attracted to youthfulness. It’s important that more and more women understand evolutionary needs imbedded in men so that we are better equipped with navigating the dating market at whatever age. I have been married for almost 10 yrs. My marriage taught me the differences in what men value in women compared to what women value in men. In general, men tend to be visual in nature. They get hooked by the physicality first. Eventually they fall in love with other attributes such as femininity (agreeable, nurturing, playfulness etc). I realize that my husband could care less about my career and instead is turned on by my mothering of the children, nurturing of him, smiling, playfulness etc. He will help me in my career but that’s not what turns him on. I had a friend who was in her sixties and back on the market due to being widowed. She understood men’s nature so well that she never once bothered about not being youthful and instead brought other attributes such as playfulness, being agreeable, receiving ( tons of feminine qualities) and she got hitched in no time.

Women are attractive at 80? Like sexually attractive? Not at all. They can be pretty in a nice old person way, not sexually attractive like a 20 year old
@lavendertwilight084 ай бұрын
It's true though. Regardless of gender. I'm 29, sorry not attracted to older men and women. I've seen very beautiful, elegant, and distinguished older people that I aspire to be and I'm sure I'll be attracted to that age when I'm there but when you're young no matter gender you have way more options and that's okay! That's youth. I'm enjoying my time in the sun and it's becoming less as I age but I also am feeling more confident about myself.

“You meet people at the level of psychological wound that you have” This is a paraphrase from Stephen Covey in his books ‘First Things First’ and ‘7 Habits Of Highly Effective People’. He expands on this statement thoroughly in his books. He also quotes history when he also says something like “…between stimulus and response is a space. It is in this space that we have the power to decide …’ …or make choices. I think we need to get our history ducks to fly in formation here.

Isn’t it crazy that he got married in the first place? If he had such a defiant attitude and unwillingness to communicate and resolve conflict or at the very least hear you out to reach a compromise then those vows never stood a chance. I haven’t been in a relationship for a while but I’ve got to know a few guys recently and the regular disappointment I’ve experienced very early on is that they’ll say things but can’t back them up with action. ‘I’ll call you tomorrow evening”... you said you were going to do that and then you didn’t... and if there’s no acknowledgement or apology or explanation eg “so sorry, got caught up at work and forgot to call you” then that’s enough for me to diminish my opinion of him. Integrity is number one on my list of what I look for and I know if he’s capable of misaligning his words and actions at the start when he’s supposed to be impressing me and convincing me of accepting a date, then I know he’s capable of far worse when the going gets tough and the honeymoon is over.

Around 12-13 minute mark. This makes sense why so many people bond in the beginning of a relationship because of both traumas but as one starts to change a disconnect comes about. The same way with friendships if you’ve experienced trauma from parents and your friend did not this can become something that disconnects the both of you because you cannot see or feel the other person’s side or there maybe even envy.

Hi everyone! The best neuralcognitive exercise you can do is rebounding! It gives The brain proprioception to gravity. It strips fat and builds muscle faster than any other workout there is. It flushes your entire lymphatic system every time you bounce, it heals your eyes, it allows your organs to start moving and becoming more fluid instead of stuck.
@DanceintheRaine6665 ай бұрын
I must jump on my Cellercizer again. It is a beautifully designed high quality rebounder. I bought the version which is portable as I was then commuting to my cabin weekly by BOAT, and I was loathe to miss a session. I could not justify the purchase of TWO rebounders and the portability of the rebounder was a wonderful solution. I have serious hip issues and have periodically yoinked my hip out of alignment by simply turning an ankle on stone (when walking), so I knew I needed to avoid poorly designed units as the flimsy metal coils/bungee cords (as opposed to tapered springs) have resulted in injuries to those who used them. Ive never turned an ankle or exascerbated any of my pre-existing (yet rehabbed) injuries. Downtime from flare-ups (or reinjuries) detract from daily training. Hope this is helpful.

@lisabilyeu I only found your channel because you interviewed dr Tara Swart who I had seen on another channel to do with other things like work stresses and the likes - her research and insight is invaluable. What I totally loved about your channel is the way in which she discussed more male/ female considerations and the issues in losing a child in a relationship came from your questions and you made the whole situation as to why people fall apart in such situations. Even though it was 10 years ago now, I lost my husband when he was 38 from a super rapid cancer. He was my world and couldn't believe that I had had 8 years with such an awesome person; but for me the worst thing was how his family turned on me. But with this insight I can now reflect and see, that they were hurting SO MUCH that they didn't have any space in their grief to be able to think about my situation. I did a documentary that was implemented into the Canadian school curriculum a few months ago that is helping educate health care professionals all over Canada and students about the horrific effects of residential schools from a perspective of a child of two residential school survivors. The native community knew about DNA memory way before the first boats landed in North America. I think one thing that's important to remember is we carry our ancestors pain BUT we also carry their strength, resilience and even spiritual gifts. Thank you for having her on, ive seen her on the "know thy self" channel and she is absolutely amazing!!! ❤

Everything in my life has put me into the place I am now and shaped me into the person I am. I don't know what the heartbreak has done to my brain, yet definitely the heart will never open again, no matter how incorrect the statements " All men are bad, or there isn't a proper man for me on this Earth" are...The point is that the real love visits you once, and I hadn't experienced that sense till 41, and I' ll never feel it again. All I can do is write and sing to stay sane...

Careful with the "your fault" and the mouth-taping for people with sleep apnea. People with sleep apnea literally stop breathing, because the tissue in the throat closes off their airway. Mouth taping is not enough, and mouth breathing is not your fault.

So you can take algae oil and get it from the source, without harming fish, the oceans and without the poisons and plastics caught up in the fish. Testa is a great brand for algae oil 😃✅

What stuck with me is that we are wired for reproduction. Female bodies and psycho are created for giving birth. Child-free is an extremely new culture, probably 30-40 years old compared with millions of years of evolution. However, child-free lifestyle would not be possible without females actually having an option to pour out their creativity and nurture into their work. I love how women are empowered now by having that option. Thank you for your channel 🌺🌹🌺

One of my grandfathers was in a Stalinist concentration camp, and the other was Jewish and when Bulgaria was under pro-fasscist regime the whole family was forcefully sent to a town in which I know there were work camps for Jews, but nobody in my family wanted to talk about it. I know about the experiences in the Stalinist camp, because my grandfather wrote a book, and in addition to the initial persecution, my other grandfather suffered through communism as well. I'm saying that because at certain times in my life I could see I'm reacting and behaving way differently than my peers and I realise it's because of transgenerational trauma. The book 'It Didn't Start With You' by Mark Wolynn really helped me untangle that, even though some of the ideas are more on the spiritual side. I think spirituallity helps with understanding functions of the brain that are way below the cognitive and are practically genetically altered through generations.

If teenagers learned this right before they start dating, that might decrease all the heart break and time waiting early. At least teenagers would have a better understanding where they stand when they start talking to the opposite sex.

I dont think logic matters a whole lot when you are under the influence of hormones, and immature brain and social stuff. they probably wont even care to care. its part of life, to learn and grow up. heart break teaches what u want. its inevitable, unless u have a perfect understanding of your needs and others. heartbreak is really just grief of letting go of someone that filled a void that you have to learn to fill yourself. "he was so much fun, and exciting. ill never have fun again" - or, go have fun yourself or make friends. people dont complete us, they just elevate us. but thats from a more evolved and healed perspective.

I LOVE this episode! Thank you Lisa and Tara. I will say one thing though.. I agree with what Sarah is saying about the law of attraction. Specific action towards our goals is vital.. However maintaining our own energetic frequency is not passive either.. It takes alot of persistence and understanding to bring ourselves to a higher vibration and stay there. There is alot of energetic labour that takes place.. It's okay.. At this moment in time this type of labour is not recognised.. In time it will be when we start to understand consciousness in a more tangible way

@lastskywalker2481 The real problem is not that women need to do the stuff that men do in order to bond. The problem is that men in general tend to neglect to take into account how to bond with a woman effectively, what she needs. A woman will tie herself in knots …..whatever it takes…to bond with a man, and many men take advantage of that. It’s supposed to be a joint effort not a one-sided thing.

Tara talked about the idea that what you think is possible is possible...more or less...and used the 4 min mile that society used to think was impossible as an example. I think to a degree having babies is similar. I swear....when I was in my 20s, the going opinion was that women needed to have all their babies before 30 or they would struggle. Now, it seems most people wait till they are 30. 30 is the norm. I wonder how much further this will push with each generation. It is now becoming much more common to see women in their 40s and now occasionally in their 50s having babies. We are also living longer and living better longer which would go hand in hand with this....but ...still....it is interesting. We have been told for so long we have such a small window for children....maybe that window is also getting bigger. Epigenetics.

I believe it's TRUE study or not. My first husband cheated on me all the time. I never denied him sex. I was in love with him. He still wondered. We divorced. Years later he told me I was the best lover he ever had. I was confused as to why he cheated on me. He simply wasn't in love me. Now I know. I told him I was the best because I truly loved him. My second husband is my soulmate and truly my other half. He is in love with me,it shows in his eyes when he looks at me.

Emotional trauma from previous relationships can carry to the next relationship. So yes I agree you must process through this. I literally put on a list things I wanted to a partner, everyday for 5 years prayed over the list each morning. I also did my best to become this list. I met my husband, not only did he meet these expectations, he exceeded them, being not only what I wanted, but what I needed. Exceptional person. One thing I would like to hear more about is how people with mental disorders attract individuals with similar disorders. Any thoughts?

If those were the words used in the room + 5 word + sentence building, those 5 words mentioned are also widely recognized as vacationing in a warm, sunny, beach environment. And, the word "walk" has often been used through child group environments to slow those rascally (mostly boys) who speed walk in school or family social environments. So, not the expert here, but know that those words have far more relatable past use and associated reactions for those unretired which would naturally slow them in their walking.
