Its an industrial sized unit. Used for high production. Its great for painting because the pressure is more stable.

CFM number or even more generally speaking the flow of volume (volume pro unit time) thru a carburetor is determined primarily by the difference in pressure between the two sides of the carb. That pressure differential is what actually causes the air to flow thru the carburetor.

If you're wanting to keep a B-block in the RR, why not built a 444 stroker for it. I built one back in '88 from mostly swap meet parts: forged crank, six-pak rods, 12.5:1 TRW pistons, rebuilt and ported the heads myself, Al Dual plane Team G intake, 750 DP (milled the horn off) Original Headman NACAR headers; so those did cost a pretty penny but those helped me fit that motor into my '79 Cordoba Brougham without having to change Anything regarding the power steering system. BTW, with what I did to the motor, I got 600+ hp to the rear wheels.

I'd ask him what the best diesel application is that fits the engine bay that any small block Chevy would fit in, and how the pressure differences are measured on a diesel intake manifold under boost, since there's no throttle body to speak of.

yeah, blow through HP capability is hella big for even a small carb; Turbo on a 650 CFM is capable of 1200HP or more.

Patina vs rust bucket. I would say there are a lot considerations, how did the rust/patina arise? If it took decades in the dry California climate or appeared a couple of years after purchase. Some cars get wet on the inside and rot outwards or it maybe a bad paint job from the factory. Cars that have lived next to the ocean or worse get driven on the beach are trouble from my experience. Can you stabilise the "effect" IE do you think clear coating it will stop the spread or is it in hard to fix places that will stay wet or let wet in? Older cars have chassis so rusty panels are not as much of an issue compared to unibody models. Is the provenance important, IE how historic is the car and is that valuable to you?

I've always wanted to know if you could set up a system that used a blow through turbo, with a roost blower under it.

Screamin Eagle the fixed air to rpm ratio of the blower interferes with the variable turbo. for low+high rpm response you can use two turbos staged small+large, perhaps even variable fin turbo. i think i read somewhere about a turbo/blower combo which bypassed the blower at higher rpm. blower:engine ratio was setup to bring high volume at low rpm and was decoupled+bypassed at high rpm where it started to only produce hot air. at that point the large turbo had enough exhaust volume+time to spin up.

About the question about the CFM rating through the carb with boost, let's say for instance we take a 750cfm carb and 15psi of boost to make it easy. 15psi of boost is 15psi over atmospheric, atmospheric is 14.7(ish) but we'll call it 15psi too. So (15psi(atmo) + 15psi(boost))/15psi(atmo) gives us a pressure ratio of 2.0:1. With that, we can look at a pressure ratio to density ratio chart(instead of doing the math) to see that at a pressure ratio of 2.0:1 and a compressor efficiency of 70%(about average), the density ratio is very close to 1.5:1. 750CFM x 1.5DR = 1125CFM. Of course this isn't exactly correct since carbs are tested at 1.5in-Hg(0.74psi) of vaccuum but it's fairly close. That is my understanding from reading several books about turbos anyway, if anyone knows anything different please say so.

It'd have to be at least 25 years old to import it here. There are a couple companies who bring over Holden Ute shells which are then mated to Pontiac G8/GTO running gear and converted into LHD using the interior bits. I'm all for a Ute with a tuned LS motor on this show or even a Holden like that red monstrosity from Roadkill season one👍🏻

Take the XJ220, pull that high revving whining V12 and stuff with something properly American and has no business sitting between bones of the Jag. Something like a 4.8 LS with a supercharger that takes a crane to lift. Best be getting that as much air as possible: chrome scoop with butterflies waving bub-bye to whomever sits next to you.
