Do you have any “fresh” meats that you bring on the trail, like summer sausage or cured meat sticks? I’ve gotten pretty sick of pasta and rice, and want to incorporate some meat into the hike.

You could try tuna packets! Summer sausage is a good choice if it's not too hot out, same with pepperoni. If you take it somewhere too hot it could get slimy. Also jerky is a great choice with more flavor options, too much summer sausage can lead to burnout.
