At 39:00, Lewis talks about the unhealthy “Powerless Mindset.” Do you identify with any of the characteristics of powerlessness, and how can you start to overcome them?

So rich, thank you both, Craig and Lewis!! One note: When Craig asked Lewis why he didn't "go bad" like so many others do (as a result of the pain and suffering they experienced), Lewis said there are two responses: make it your mission to burn the world down, or make sure no one else suffers the way you did. But I've seen a third response -- the anger and/or discouragement seethes quietly beneath the surface (except for the occasional eruption) in a person who doesn't know how or doesn't choose to change for the better. They want to stay mad. They don't want to take responsibility, but want to think it's someone else's fault. They want to cling to their ideals, one being that somebody should right the wrongs (never realizing he or she could be instrumental in doing that). He doesn't want to go on a rampage of destruction -- instead he remains in an attitude of self-righteous justification. But the bitterness and resentment growing inside him hinder him from seeing clearly, limiting his influence and slowly eroding his relationships with those closest to him. His journey through life becomes one of quiet desperation and defeat. He has become so accustomed to the "safety" of living in a cage, that he's afraid to make any attempts to get out. And he sabotages his own potential for greatness, by remaining in defeat, maintaining the status quo, just getting by. Like the man in Jesus' parable who buried his talent. He didn't use his talent for evil or for good. He just buried it and held onto his victim mentality, stuck inside his little cage.

Sometimes we focus so much on “doing” and this lesson was big on “being”. This is so necessary to prioritize, or else we are building the empty success that looks so much like failure. Thanks for sharing this message 🙏

True Leadership from Pastor Craig! Inviting into his podcasts other experienced and wise leaders who arent afraid to tell their stories and preach truth. Love this podcast. Have seen Lewis do interviews on youtube with male leaders about obtaining and maintaining healthy relationships. Looking forward to reading his book . Would like to see a podcast with RC Blakes Jr. I believe RC is truly led by the Lord to help women and men survive narcissism and abuse and get away from it. His videos directly referencing the Bible about narcissism helped me along with Craig’s teachings and books to see my worth and to start elltrusting and loving in God and my self even more. He has books as well.

Just a word of caution; Meditation and “mindfulness” be very careful how you do it. The Bible never mentions to “empty your mind” and such. There other thing is be weary of priests, in modern times they don’t always uphold the pure truth of the gospel and allow for idol worship, which is not biblical. Two things I noticed is all. Loved the information. Grateful for all that you share!

Being part of your international audience I'd love for you to interview international leaders from from other parts of the world. Eg: Nicky Gumble (UK). Another suggestion, which may be an unpopular one is to interview TD Jakes. He has great leadership insight, in my opinion. A last suggestion is Alan Fadling, who wrote an amazing book titled "An unhurried life".
