Good morning Arlene, Ginger slept next to me all night and she ate a full breakfast this morning - so she will not be having her puppies this morning. She is doing great and eating with great enthusiasm! She does love the stew with all the powders I am including! I will show them to you next time you are here 😊

I love the longer straighter look but it does take a little more time to make sure their face is clean after eating. My current Yorkie, Juliette, will be 2 next month and in full coat. My first Yorkie, Isabella, was in full coat until she passed away 2 years ago. For me taking care and grooming Juliette gives both of us some quality bonding time.

We have two mini’s. We keep their beards cut short and close. Our groomer calls it a puppy cut. Certainly helps keeping their food out of their beards. More importantly it helps minimize dripping water all over the house.

Hello Shawn, I like the rounder shorter face haircut on Mocha. I love all puppies but Huckleberry's pups have stole my heart!! Many years ago I had a male schnauzer who had problem with his anal glands. He had to have his expressed at the Vet's office. That was a very stinky visit. I am sure you are not surprised to hear that I am counting the days until Jelly's gotcha day.💜💜

mocha has such beautiful eyes! i definitely love the shorter rounded beard with the schnauzer cut 😍. honey bear’s little white paw is absolutely adorable. huckleberry’s puppies are oh so cute! i’m so happy to see an update on them. do you have any updates on ginger and her litter yet? I am super excited to see her puppies!

Hi Kiwi, Thank you for letting me know you like the shorter beard. Ginger is sitting next to me. She ate a big breakfast this morning and hasn't started nesting yet so she will not be having her puppies today most likely. I would guess sometime between Wednesday and Friday and hopefully not at 2am ❤️ Yes, I will keep you posted and share as soon as I have news on Ginger's puppies.

I prefer the shorter rounder beard! It seems easier to manage after they eat and looks so cute with the traditional schnauzer cut. Huckleberry’s puppies are growing so fast! I cannot believe they are already three weeks old.

I prefer the shorter beard. My boy's beard was never as thick and luscious. I think my dogs groomer would thin his beard a little which made either way a little easier to manage. I assume you don't want to over strip either way because it might change the hair texture. Schnauzers look stunning either way.

Yes! You are correct Nopenever. I like the thick and luscious feeling of Mocha's long coat. I love cuddling with him! And some people would prefer to thin it out and not have so much to brush every day. It is a matter of preference. THANK YOU!

In some future video, we would be interested to hear some tips on how to continue training our puppy after prep school. How frequently should we run through all the skills she has learned with you to maintain them? Any goals or ideas we should do to continue training her after she leaves you? Thank you for these great questions I will answer them in an upcoming video and a quick run through here too: It would be great for you to do a daily run through of all the basics with Misty! Use her breakfast and have her work for it - you will see us doing this in the training sessions here. My puppies are usually full grown by 9 months old. Well, I think whatever works better for you and Mocha would be the way to go. I so appreciate the info. about the marrow bones. I never thought about getting those. I can't actually say I've ever seen any of them in our grocery store. I'll have to really look for them. I have a small Havanese and she is a chewer. I will have to see if she will take to the bones.

I like how you did to the face. I was talking about the sides of the body gradually tapering to the skirt. The go groomer did your Ellie Grace in this manner both as an 8wk old and when she is older.

Good Afternoon Shawn. I was very interested about the marrow bones. Wish I had known about that treat when I had my girls. As for the haircut I think shorter rounder is my choice. I like the social eating for the puppies to teach they don’t have to food guard. Love watching the pups as they grow in size from birth to gotcha day. That is really fun. I also enjoy hearing the new name chosen for each pup and where they will be going. Thanks for talking anal glands. Not a favorite subject…but one that certainly needs discussion to make for enlightened owners.

Hi Carole! Yes! Useful for puppy owners to know they don't need to do the anal gland routine themselves as part of grooming! It is messy and can even cause problems if done too much or incorrectly. THANK YOU for your comments! Sending you a big hug 😍

Hello YelloDog1 - when someone joins my waiting list they tell me what they are looking for. For example someone may say: A female that looks just like Honey Bee OR someone else might say a male that is solid black. Then I call that person about a puppy when i have what they wanted. I use the date - the order people went on my list to make the calls when new puppies are born. The person who says either gender and any color is more likely to get a puppy faster but I am also happy to be a bespoke breeder and "custom make" puppies for people on my list. I use my waiting list to determine which dogs to breed together to produce the type of puppy that is next up on the list. That is why I am very precise when I speak with people about being on my waiting list and there is a $500 non-refundable deposit because I am making a puppy for you if you are on my waiting list!

I chop into bite sized pieces and add it raw to their stew just before serving AND they also get asparagus raw which they LOVE as a training treat! 😂

At what age can you introduce the marrowbone bones?

You can introduce marrow bones at 8+ weeks of age. Choose a confined area or supervise so the dog does not jump on your sofa or bed with the marrow bone! I give my adult dogs marrow bones when I am going out for a while - the bones keep them entertained so they don't notice I am gone!

I always liked rounded beards so for Mocha I like the round one. If I ever had a dog with anal gland issues, I would take them to the vet. I think its best to be seen by a vet. If the owner tries to express them, they may hurt the dog. Some groomers do anal glands but I personally wouldn't want them to do it. I believe that is a vet function

@Catherinenelson8676 YES!!! I agree! When we bring a puppy into the world we need to be prepared to care for it no matter what. Recently a company contacted me about their products - they make the braces and wheels for dogs that are missing a leg. I'm blanking on their name at the moment but you could look them up and see if they can help you to provide the puppy with a brace or a wheel that will help if it needs such support. (I hope it goes without saying I would not breed that pair of dogs together again also. But you may want to talk to a genetic vet to explore this if you don't agree with me.)
