Thank you for all the help from your channel I was struggling to locate stars because I was using 750x magnification which was way to much for for 127fl telescope so I used a 20mm eye piece and was able to view the star Sirius for the first time with a telescope it was a awesome view, I’m going to try to see some planets hopefully soon

Thank you Jason. Your always a wealth of knowledge and tell it like it is. Svbony lenses to me have been very good and great prices. You should do more Q & A shows for us to view. Thank you again.

Very informative video! At 10:31 I use moon filters and an OIII filter on a small 90/500 refractor. Without this I can't see NGC6960, for example, and with the filter it's there immediately. Greetings from Germany. :-)

Not going to be able to view exoplanets with our gear. You may be thinking dwarf planet or asteroid belt objects with your answer. Exoplanet is a planet that orbits another star. They are identified with image sensor analysis by detecting the very faint dimming of a star when the exoplanet transits in front of its star. This is unlikely to be noticeable visually and requires incredible precision when doing exposure comparisons. There are some variable stars that dim noticeably enough to our eyes due to transits, but it's not usually due to an exoplanet.

I agree that SVBONY has very good eyepieces. Their wide field (68 degree) eyepieces with the red bands are an absolute bargain.

Lol, I have asked you several questions that fortunately you've addressed in other videos that I binged! I'll keep this in mind for next time 😁 Edited to add: I highly recommend looking at backpacking chairs. They kind of lean back anyway and they're not heavy or bulky. Edited one more time to add: I got the red band svony, is that right?, anyway, the red band things that he suggesting and my son and I had fun looking through them last night. They worked fine for us.

Have become a fan since getting my first scope 2 months ago, a 10 in reflector. I live in Bortle 7 skies near Chicago. Star hopping is hard (like finding M81) with the red dot. Noticed that I can spot star patterns with my binoculars well and find my DSO objects by recognizing these patterns. My red dot is used, not in good shape. I know you like them. I was thinking an 8x50 finder might be most helpful given my light pollution. The club is saying to get a Telrad. What do you think?
@truenorthdot77357 ай бұрын
I have a Telrad on my 8 inch dob. Works excellent. You can really turn it down to a faint circle too so you can see exactly where you're pointing your scope.

I just collimated my dobsonian telescope, and i want to know how often i have to collimate because since i collimated my telescope, the views got a loot better, and the laser i used was perfectly collimated
@truenorthdot77357 ай бұрын
I always collimate my dob prior to using it. Especially if you're picking it up and moving it, placing it in your vehicle, etc...
