Q Acoustics 3050i with Marantz NR1200

I`m here to ask the Internet for some help! I`ve got the NR1200 paired up with the Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 speakers and the quality is ...disappointing to say the least. At high volume (50% up) it`s reasonable (by no means good), but at lower volumes it sounds like my Google Home speaker...with no exaggeration. What could be the problem? It`s been sat on the shelf for about a year cause I can`t stand the sound of it. I`ve checked all the connections and adjusted the sound settings with little improvement. Do I need better speakers ? Should I add and AMP ? Could it be a faulty product ? Thanks in advance.

NR1200 is decent all-in-one stereo receiver but it definitely missing some spark that similarly priced integrated amps have. It is all about synergy I guess. It works fine with brighter or neutral speakers, but it might have trouble with darker speaker. Many people say that Wharfedale leans to darker side of sound.

Q Acoustics are nice speakers but have own laid back signature. I would definitely try to audition them first to see if they fits your perception of good sound.

Really, thank you for your reply. I heard plenty floorstand speaker, but in my country it's not common to have this kind of brand (just a local one). That's what make me want to buy one, haha.

Speakers are a little bit on the warm side. They have their signature. They're not neutral but they do have nice sound.

Hey! Would you say that the NR1200 is powerful enough to get everything out of those spekaers?

After some time, I think that Q Acoustics would be better with some livelier or sparkly amp.

Yes, I was happy with the sound of this system. Just pay attention to space. These speakers require a little bit bigger room.

Nisu previše osjetljivi na smještaj. Ali preporuka je barem 30 cm od stražnjeg zida, minimalno. Kod mene je problem desni zid malo. Bilo bi bolje da ima još mjesta. Barem pola metra... Ali ok je i ovako. Zahvalni zvučnici za smještaj.

@@mw12387 prostor je otvoren tako da nije klasična kvadratura... Ali recimo oko 20+ m2 ova prostorija u kojoj se nalaze.

What I mean there is no reference point. To something we know and can compare to? Nobody knows how much the mic is colouring sound etc Having said that I’m looking at this exact setup. Being that 3050i are bass heavy and Marantz is warmer sounding so they overpower/muddy low frequencies?

@@bruunm1975 I agree to certain degree. It's amateur video recorded with smartphone. There is a difference between what you could hear over here and how it really sounds like but someone might get general idea, which is better than nothing I guess. Just trying to help someone who might look for similar equipment.

Nora Jones sounds wooly on these. Her vocals are very forward with the recording slightly off centre to the right and bright compared to the music making her voice stand out, I can't hear any of that here.

KZbin videos are just informative, especially when recorded with mobile phone. There are some KZbin channels where they use professional equipment. This is just to give people idea what to expect since I had troubles finding videos like this when I was buying system.
