Q ACOUSTICS CONCEPT 30 SPEAKERS @ £899. COMPARED TO Q ACOUSTICS 3030i, MARTIN LOGAN 15i & SPENDOR A1

I just picked up a lightly used pair of 30's from a friend of mine. Instrument separation is what really stands out for me with these speakers. I'm a huge fan of 80's Jethro Tull, The Broadsword and The Beast up to and including Rock Island and of course his solo Walk Into Light.

Nice review, and yes I think the Concept 30's are excellent for the price. I just brought a pair home and love them. I put a little stereo together with these speakers after some though that the components play well together. I'm in a small residence so these speakers are perfect. Powered by an Atoll IN100 and network streamer. Cambridge Audio CXN. and a REL T/7 subwoofer. Ultralink and QED cables to connect. It's opinion I know but I am happy with the results. Superb review. I watch your review 3 times to understand the details. You clearly state the character of speaker and not influenced by highly priced competitors. I have concept 20. And I think female vocals sound best on concept speakers. Lush,lovely sweet shimmering and sonorous which no other speakers can ?

Thanks for CS, in flagging the weight error in the video. Not sure where I got that from...speaker and stand combined perhaps? Not sure. Anyway, each speaker actually weighs in at 7.9 kg (17.4 lbs).

i have had a pair of Q Acoustics 3050's for a number of years and i will be keeping them for many years to come they sound great, and i got them at a bargain price of £300 as they had been discounted because the new 3050i's had replaced them for about twice the price

I have the Q acoustics concept 500s and on the whole I think they are very impressive .They have impressive build quality with 3 layers of mdf and 2 non setting gel layers and lots of point to point bracing etc making the the cabinets even more inert and quite heavy they have very little cabinet resonance/ colouration compared to a pair of ATC scm 100 active towers I had before .The Bass is remakable and quite extended the mids are very clear with great soundstage .My only issue is the lack of bite in the treble even with the adjuster on max , with the amp on flat they sound a little dull fortunately the Michi has tone controls ,so i add 3db of treble and they are fine .It maybe be someting to bare in mind when pairing the C500s you might need an amp with tone controls .

Great review. I really like my 3030i’s. It would be great to compare them to higher class speakers some day. However, I’m enjoying the deep, wide, and smooth sound signature from the 3030i’s.

I'm happy with mine, too. With what I've spent on everything else in my system they should be an obvious choice to upgrade next, but they're such solid performers I'll be keeping them until I'm as happy with the rest of my system as I am with them.

Paul, I watch your channel and trust your reviews. What are you thoughts on this, I have a pair of Sonus Faber Venere 2.5's and am thinking of moving to Q Acoustics Concept 40. I have not heard them...difficult to get a demo. Do you think I would be gaining anything or its just a lateral move? The other speaker on my mind is Audio Vector QR3. Thanks. Btw, I bought the Martin Logan 15i based on your review....nice speakers.

So many manufacture's push the ingenuity of their cabinets but the problem and real area of concern is the quality of the internal parts like the wiring, caps, coils and inductors used. These are what I'd like to see on the spec sheets. Surely we;ve known now for many decades how to produce a proper cabinet!

@@themastroiannis well so far I'm liking them. The bass is punchier, and they seem to have some extra zest to them. Sorry I can't be more descriptive, I dont think I'll be doing any professional reviews any time soon😂 And for what it's worth I actually like them better than the ls50 metas I tried, although the bass on them did seem a bit deeper. Gonna try some others before I take the plunge. Monitor audio golds, focal 906's and buchardt s400 mkii's.

I love the review. What stands do you think would be suitable for these speakers. I know they can be bought with those rather expensive Four progned chrome ones, but they have quite a large footprint. Do you know if the dedicated 3030i stands would fit. .

Had the concept 40 for a while, very clean sound, compared to the KEF Q750 i have now, they are less fun. KEF nails the Soundstage, would like to listen to the Concept 30 though.

Never been a fan of Q Acoustics. Why or why are they so darned deep (the cabinets I mean)? That deeper than they are tall look I find pretty ugly and and I imagine they are not easy to accommodate on a lot of stands and in a lot of rooms.
