When Q said, “When I clock into being a father, I’m that first,” I audibly said UNDERSTOOD. As a mother who would do everything I could to move heaven and earth for my children if I had to, no other explanation was needed for me. I get Oliver’s position on how he was contractually bound and penalties had to be paid, but I also agree with Q saying that Oliver did not present the reason why Q didn’t attend in a way that didn’t paint him out to be the “bad guy” in the situation. Without revealing Q’s personal situation in detail, Oliver could’ve explained the situation better to viewers. It seems like Oliver allowed his discontent with the money situation to supersede his loyalty to his friend. Oliver did have every right to be upset about the money too though.

After watching various interviews and lives, I’ve noticed that Q is a stickler for his image and how he’s portrayed. This is why on chasing he seemed extremely manufactured . I watched his content outside of chasing so I came to love him, but I can see why the general audience didn't connect with him. I remember when Imani did that segment dragging Oliver. Reviewing that episode, he said, “Was she lying?” Months later, when she did the same thing to him on Chasing LA, it’s now Andarrio and Ressie in her ear. This may be true, but he couldn't see that she was a problem when she did it to Oliver.

Just from what I'm hearing, it sounds like Andarrio wasn't willing to allow a show he wasn't editing to be put on the platform without it being up to his standards according to the quality of brand he created. Sounds like he provided the opportunity to Q and laid out his expectations for the show to be greenlit, but deadlines weren't met, the quality of editing wasn't the best, and the money that was expected wasn't paid for in the time period it was supposed to be paid. Andarrio saw the red flags and wasn't willing to sign off on a project he didn't feel confident about. That's why he wanted to see all three episodes at one time---- to ensure the product be put out in a timely manner after missing previous deadlines and to also make sure that the quality(editing, etc) of the show matched the brand. I may have misunderstood or misheard something,but that was my takeaway.
