Can I add an LCD display to the Q-Scout? It's big brother kit has one, and it looks like there are available ports.

@@TomStrong I think I read that in the big brother model you can plug in either the distance sensor OR the LCD display but not both. Please confirm anything you can.

That would make sense as the distance sensor also has a lights feature output, so that port must have I/O. (Some of the others are Input only sensors), but I can’t see how you can buy the screen without getting the whole four wheels Qoopers kit..

@@TomStrong Robobloq just answered my email about this issue: "We have Q-Scout add on packs with LCD panel, it cost $30." And they indicated it can be plugged in at the same time as the distance sensor but said port 4 is off limits.

Difficult call. Some interesting reviews on both kits. This one looks more robust and expansion is via plug an socket rather than add on direct to a circuit board. Similar development and functionality out of the box. Let me know what you decide and how you get on.

Thanks, good to see this one caught your eye. I do understand what you say but I see this as pretty good value when compared to the Sphero droids in terms of similar functionality and the 16” R2 that you could enter a Logo Script program into. All those cost (when new) over 100 usd. But this really is properly programmable (you even get a PC development environment you download via USB) + has compatibility with Mecano and Lego!

I'm Dringa vlogs I'm completely blind, autistic and have a chronic heart condition. I love your hexbug reviews, I have a hexbug cuddlebots, and it's Betty the bumblebee. She helps distract me for when I'm getting my blood drawn. The cuddlebots move around with vibration, so when I'm getting my blood drawn, I stick the hexbug in my hand and turn the vibration. The vibration in my hand, helps me relax during a blood draw. Also I'm thinking about having Dad get me a hexbug aquabot for my birthday, and I can use the aquabots in my bath water. The manual the manufacturer provides is factually wrong as the values issued by the line sensor have changed. If you fancy bagning your head against a brick wall for hours, follow the manual.

I can attest that the quality is good. I have had no issues and so not needed support as everything just works.
