The Q-Tee once again takes to the air, more or less, with some more vintage glow engines. This time, the engines are: Holland Hornet .049 Atwood .049 Twin Cox Tee Dee .020's on their "Board of Engines"

Great video! I have several engines that are running great at the moment. I need to get a couple of kits built so I can fly them, too.

You see these videos of r/c flyers with these 1/4 scale or bigger, turbojet powered, planes, and then you see this little 2-channel flyer with a simple 2-stroke glow engine, that probably cost a thousand times less. And you have to ask yourself, who's having the most fun?

I really enjoy watching the flight with the difference engines. You have a remarkable air craft. Does the plane have ailerons? Thank you for making the video. Ken 10:15 p

Thank You! I've got some more engines to be flown on the Q-Tee...just got to get around to it. No, the little plane was designed without ailerons, flying with only elevator and rudder control. Mine DOES pack an additional micro servo for use with throttled engines, and some of these will be flown in the next videos. In the 1980's and 90's, we had a bunch of them in our little group, usually being flown with Cox .049 Bee's of one sort or another. It's a great, easy to fly little plane...this one was built by my late cousin Bill, and I like to think he'd get a kick out of knowing that it's still puttering around. Thank you for your comment!

What are you using to protect the camera from the exhaust fuel residue?

I had originally built a couple of small balsa boxes, with a flat piece of picture frame glass epoxied to the end but, when in the slipstream of the engine exhaust, these immediately got covered with castor. Now, I just try to position the camera outside of the "castor trail", though I DO have a small, open-ended box for video from the cockpit or fuselage. The camera is recessed into the box and aimed out at the wing or to the rear to avoid the the castor. The OS. .61 on my Sig Kadet Senior Sport is pretty good about sending most of the castor spray out along it's belly, so I'll often just jam the camera in it's cockpit with no covering, and wipe off any spray after each flight:
