Oh my God my heart goes out to all of these people. The whole scene seems so gray and surreal and then suddenly bits of color pass by reminding us that this is not a Hollywood production this is real life. Thank you for this video. It truly makes me appreciate life.
Forget earthquakes, typhoons, wildfires, hurricanes, tsunamis must be the most destructive force that mother nature can throw at us, I have been watching different footage and I don't think my mind can process the amount of destruction caused in less than 1 hour, bless all you families who was effected by this, I can't imagine how you got through it 😞
Fear in any language is the same. The power of water to cause that much destruction is the scariest thing I've ever seen. Can't even begin what all of the survivors went through. Very humbling and puts things in perspective.

At the beginning, after the man says, "It's starting", the woman says in shock and disbelief and fear, "This isn't a dream!" And I can understand why. It would be impossible to believe what you were seeing.

Naaa, the female's gill's where dry and asking someone to throw her back in the water.
At 3:00, were those aftershocks? I read that some of the aftershocks were as severe as 7.5 mag. I guess at that point, sadly, there were more pressing issues than aftershocks.. like the rushing sea water 😭 horrible tragedy...

There were hundreds of 6.0s +. I think there were less than 10 or so in last 10 years over 7.0. They’re all associated with pre and post shocks.
Hello, I hope and pray that EVERYONE'S doing well. When I watch all of these Tsunami videos, I get upset that this happens. I can't stop watching them. I've never experienced anything like what you all do. Do you all get the Tsunami's all the time or just here and there? I really wish that we all could prevent the Tsunami's. It's just not right, ruining your home's, business's, etc. As I said before I hope and pray for everyone to be safe. GOD BLESS ALL. CARIE - from Virginia Beach, Va

Carie B even if you're in a high ground you will Start to doubt if you're still safe because the water is creeping upward and you don't know how high it could go. If this happen in my country I'm scared even to imagine it.

Carie B they’ve had them all through their history. Japanese culture is very old. I have watched so many & some over & over that I almost feel like I know the places. It’s sad especially the loss of life. But they will go on

Carie B in 2016 I was in a 5.8 quake in Oklahoma near the epicenter on 9-3-2016 that was enough without a tsunami quite a bit of damage with that one I’ll never forget that. Water is very destructive the only other thing I can think of that can destroy whatever it touches is an F-5 🌪 tornado.

you can clearly see people on the big boats hopeless of what was to come for them.

Those big boats, made of steel and quite strong, were probably about the safest places to be along that waterfront. Of course, they would have been even safer at sea rather than docked, which is why our navy vessels have standing orders to make for sea whenever a storm or similar approaches.
