約翰牛頓的墓碑：「約翰牛頓，神職人員。曾是個不信、放蕩者是非洲奴隸的奴隸；藉著救主耶穌基督豐盛憐憫的保守、赦免，並被派定去傳揚他所曾長期致力毀壞的信仰。」
以弗所書二章八節：「你們得救是本乎恩，也因著信；這並不是出於自己，乃是神所賜的。」
奇異恩典，何等甘甜，我罪已得赦免；
Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.
前我失喪，今被尋回，瞎眼今得看見。
I once was lost, But now am found, Was blind but now I see.
如此恩典，使我敬畏，使我心得安慰；
It was Grace that taught, My heart to fear, And Grace my fears relieved;
初信之時即蒙恩惠，眞是何等寶貴。
How precious did, That Grace appear, The hour I first believed!
哥林多後書九章八節：「神能將各樣的恩惠多多的加給你們，使你們凡事常常充足，能多行各樣善事。」
許多危險、試煉、網羅，我已安然經過，
Through many dangers, Toils and snares, We have already come:
靠主恩典，安全不怕，更引導我歸家。
It was Grace that hath brought, Us safe thus far, And Grace will lead us home.
將來禧年，聖徒歡聚，恩光愛誼千年，
When we have been there, Ten thousand years, Bright shining as the Sun,
喜樂頌讃，在父座前，深望那日快現。
We will have no less days, To sing God's praise, Than when we first begun.
以弗所書一章七節：「我們藉這愛子的血得蒙救贖，過犯得以赦免，乃是照祂豐富的恩典。」
