Real good interviewer and questions. After seeing so many interviews you appreciate actual interesting questions and an interviewer who shows real appreciation of the band, thank you

I remember that first show at MSG, that screen stayed there for a couple of songs, although I kinda knew at what moment was supposed to drop in Pioneers to the falls. Can’t wait for February 16th and listen to the entire album. I’m impressed that Q104.3 actually had P. Banks on the radio. Thanks

Yeah I think Paul is mistaken here- I was at the Fall '07 show at MSG with Cat Power and they were touring for 'Our Love to Admire.' I'll be there again in February and expect another amazing set- there's a lot of great material on the new record that I'm sure will translate well live.

Have you read the recent Pitchfork piece on what albums influenced him personally? He goes into stuff between him and Carlos D a bit. A tiny bit, but you can get an idea of what it was like between them before Carlos' departure.

I have heard interviews with Carlos and he’s up to a meeting with Paul and the band about coming back or at least playing some shows but Paul is all stuck up when it comes to anything about Carlos. There music was so so much tighter with Carlos first three albums were bad ass. But this slow emo shit really turns me away
@rdrake3166 жыл бұрын
Carlos abandoned Interpol. Carlos was difficult to work with according to Sam and Paul. Sam gave the most detailed interview into all things Interpol back in May on a drummer's podcast done down in Athens, GA.

I thought Banks prefered to shun politics in art. Apparently not. It speaks volumes of the level of political saturation of society that even Paul, whose lyrics tend to require a decoder (that is if there is anything to decode in the first place), is attemping indirect political commentary.
@vincemelson96554 жыл бұрын
He lives in New York city so his music is going to have a certain amount of political undertones by default art is not exist in a vacuum stop being a crybaby
@JesseBrown-qf6zp4 жыл бұрын
Vince Melson Except Paul has stated that art should be separate from politics, which is self-evident in his material until society reached this current level of hyper politicization.

@@JesseBrown-qf6zp do you have a link or citation for this quote your are attributing to Mr. Banks?
@JesseBrown-qf6zp2 жыл бұрын
@@blakelyhall8191 No. I think Paul said so in an interview for a magazine. The statement he released while opening for Morrissey, in which he affirmed his respect for both political sides, is further corroboration of a generally neutral position.
