It always amazes me how a company can refund 7 to 10 business days yet they can whip it out of my account immediately
@UpYourArsenal3 ай бұрын
It's never gone 'immediately' -- it takes 2-3 business days to approve every transaction you make (that is not cash* [edit]) If they 'refund' (i.e. "pay") you immediately, and you contest the original charge, they're out double. It's 2-3 business days to process the transaction, and minimum 2-3 to verify you're making a legitimate claim to a refund, then 2-3 to issue the money back (same as the original transaction). None of this doesn't make sense, if you pause to think about how the systems are actually set up.

When I got on the plane, the flight attendant told me he couldn’t do anything to help me. I said if you can’t do anything who can? So then I took my daughter. My husband followed me, and we went over and sat down in the one location with 3 seats together, and I said “We’re not moving.” I knew in order to move ahead with this the way we needed for it to happen, I had to put the problem back on the airlines and not on me and my husband. Fortunately, there was a family of three adults who had planned to sit in those seats and when they saw what was going on, they quickly let us sit there. It was ridiculous that the airlines knew that they were gonna have a problem. They kept kicking them football down the field, knowing it was gonna be a disaster, but not caring in the least.

I didn’t have to smell the nauseating smell of various multiple cuisines clashing in a relatively small enclosed space. Best of all, I didn’t have to contend with rude humans who many times act like feral animals. Not to mention the reconfiguration of airline cabins. The new seats are narrower and closer together so if you’re larger than a 10 year old, the armrests dig into your waist/thighs and your knees are touching the seat in front of you. No thanks. I’ll drive and enjoy the scenery along the way to my destination. Truthfully, with the rising cost of airline tickets, and all the added fees and taxes, plus the cost of food or water both on the plane and in the airport, the costs incurred by driving aren’t all that much more than flying.

Good story. How about get ride of the baggage fees altogether!!!!!!!! The plane was built with cargo space cuz they knew we would need to take our luggage with us when we traveled on vacation, business, etc. we haven’t always had baggage fees. Anyone remember Ozark, Pan Am, TWA, American, United, Delta, & oh yeah, Southwest Airlines, hmmmmmmmm………………

Yeap, I have 200+ flights and the moment they start causing guaranteed returns of funds, and try stopping the 1-3 overbooking, flights will all so up $20-$50 a flight. They overbook common flights that have other cancelations, that's how they balance costs.

So what’s the solution? Customers are just f*cked?
@Connetification4 ай бұрын
Definitely not. There's competition. We have choices. Unless all the airline companies increase their prices...
@ayoiawe4 ай бұрын
This excuse always comes up when legislation is passed to stop predatory practices from companies. No, it won't. And even if it did, 1. you're again still paying about the same on average. The only difference is nothing is hidden now. 2. Airlines raise the price to see how much they can get away with, not because the market organically caused them to increase it.

If these rules were not approved by Congress, Chevron means the airlines can keep these rules tied up in federal court for years.

Is this the same Chevron law that SCOTUS recently overturned?
@steven43153 ай бұрын
@@christinegeary4877 SCOTUS overturned the Chevron deference. That means that the airlines are entitled to force the FAA to take them to federal court to enact any new rules not voted on by Congress.

I use breeze and allegiant.. not only do they let you pick your seats they have families sit in the back where they can be together and away from people who would like to be a little more on the quiet side towards the front... And they don't charge extra for those seats. Breeze gives you free cancellation in the form of points so even though you don't get your cash back you get your points back and I saved mine... I've had the most pleasant experience with these two airlines here in Utah at our Provo airport only because it is a very small airport and literally it's 20 minutes to get in and wait for your plane...

I fly in Asia, and every major Asian carrier I fly, always shows, in a given fare, what is included (check-in baggage is included in every fare, just the maximum allowable weight varies for each fare class), what are charges for change of date, cancellation or refund, and how many frequent flyer miles will be credited for each fair class. Actually they show comparison table for all these for all the fare classes (which in the US, the US carriers are suing against as mentioned in this video). Choosing your seats is free from 48 hours before the departure time.

Be an Informed traveler. The are no junk fees just upgrades. Like when McDonalds offered Super size, you get what you pay for. I’ve traveled with my toddlers and never been told I have to pay to sit together. In fact when I book a flight with American. They always assign our seats together without even asking and never requested more money. Families always do with American Airlines, they have been amazing with their policy. Even Southwest has family boarding for free to keep families together. If you want a seat closer to the front or the more legroom, yeah you pay for that. Don’t order off the dollar menu and expect a filet mignon. Better example, don’t order a basic Uber and expect a Cadillac Escalade…
