It’s very difficult for today’s Christian to understand Israel, given how the majority of them have been taught. The reality is in this dispensation God is simply not dealing with people on the basis of nationality. He is saving sinners, individually, regardless of nationality. He will revert to dealing with the nations after our rapture. When this happens, Israel will be front and center!

The way I read scripture today Israel is in blindness and their program is on hold. But I do believe the old hatred from the descendants of Ishmael is active and although there is no prophesy except that hatred , I still support Israel to defend themselves.

Hi David, quick question. Israel’s fall and diminishing of Romans 11:12 could those be split out where corporate Israel falls and the little flock diminishes? Just curious your thoughts on that.

@ea32da32 Our first thought is what would be the textual basis for changing who "them" refers to in different clauses of the same verse? There is nothing in the text to indicate a change in the people group that is being referred to.

@@ColumbusBibleChurch my thought about it was that the little flock is also part of Israel but they didn’t fall, more like diminish. But you’re correct there is no technical distinction in the text. Too bad Paul’s not here to ask 😉.

@clyde9803 It depends on which meaning of the word Jew one is referring to. The verse below explains how God thinks about the issue. Rom 2:29 KJV - But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God.

Agreed, and by that standard modern professing Jews in Israel and worldwide, who steadfastly reject the Gospel, cannot be classed as Jews. That's why I believe present day Israel is not the Israel of God. There WILL be such an Israel again but the current one isn't it. As John warned true but unbelieving Jews, their lineage alone couldn't save them. God can raise up faithful children out of stones if He needs to.

The Godhead/Triune have considered how to show the power, grace and love that can be bestowed on a fallen mankind. SO HOW? The selection of a small insignificant sliver of the fallen. THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE GREATEST GIFTS/AWARDS EVER a fallen family UNITED/BOUND with GOD...THEN comes the dispensation of GRACE which can show that God can give more than ever expected with LOVE to non family becoming adopted INTO HIS FAMILY which includes the Jews. GOD HAS PICKED TO BE A MEMBER OF THE JEWISH FAMILY. They know he is coming OT. They know when. AND HE IS FAMILY. YET FAMILY KILLS HIM with vengeance and no love in any way. THE ultimate sin to kill God. REJECTED by his human family he choses to adopt a family and give the WONDERFUL SCOPE of GREATER promises to the Gentiles. A sharing to create jealousy of the Gentiles. YET he remembers at the very end that not all of his family has or will reject Him/Christ. OUR CHRISTIAN VIEW OF ISRAEL? We are adopted family, with God as THE HEAD of that family We should ALWAYS TRY TO REMEMBER THIS. There is not any Jew, Greek or Roman or Gentile anymore just GOD's FAMILY! Dear God THANK YOU! AMEN!!
