Mischief Makers Boss Rush in Japanese Special

There has always been a lack of videos on the japanese version of Mischief Makers. I decided that it's worth credit for the differences between the two versions that most people wouldn't know about.
The game is played on an emulator with graphics, processing and resources better than the N64. That's why, most notably on the first fight, there is a lot less lag/delay than normally, but this only adds to the challenge. Plus it's more enjoyable to watch then isn't it?
If enough people request it, I can upload individual videos of each boss and possibly annotate what they say, since I do have a rough understanding of what they say.

To get the gold gem, killing the 2nd fight with bird boss without getting hit once was a nightmare for me. And the last boss, I had no idea I could do damage to him in all those different ways you did. I kept waiting until he launched his fist at me.

This is a hard game (at least if you want all gold gems) with parying and rolling. It's basically dark souls. Love the first boss btw. It always felt awesome beating him!

***** They are actually pretty different. I do have a video on the japanese specific SE which has a few translations in them. The main difference from what I can tell (and my poor japanese skills) is that the Beastector don't fight for justice, but are instead honourable warriors that enjoy their battles with Marina. Theo is an even bigger pervert (obviously) and Marina is just downright cute. As much as I'd love to try annotating it, I really cannot translate their spoken dialogue accurately, nor even read the written dialogue~

Are you sure about the difference about justice in the beastector? Because it sounds like Lunar is saying "seigi"/justice still during the final battle, and Merco still uses the word "yuusha"/hero. Though before that point, I think in both games their pretty much just obsessed with battle.

At that point anything that the final boss did would have been gone. So they could be talking about Marina or them self when they say Hero and Justice.

Huh. I've learned things about the Migen and Son fight! I didn't know there was dialogue between them and now I know what happens if you try to KO Junior first; it's always interesting to me when someone besides the hero uses power-ups!

Just commands and taunts like "Punch!", "Get her!", "Fire!", "Psyche!", etc. Must've been a hassle to localize so it was gutted in the western release.

Hm, does the Japanese text between Migen and Son hold any particular significance? It was cut entirely from the English release I played, so I imagine it wasn't anything too important, as far as battle hints or anything.

before the battle, Migen Jr. asks what Theo is and Migen Sr. tells him he's food, which overjoys him. Migen Jr's text during the battle indicates what attack he's using. "butsuzo" - punch when Migen Sr. is present Fire - fireball(s) Punch - uncatchable, quickly replaced with "yameta" (Stop or Quit) if he's faking you out "tsukareta" (Tired or Fatigued) - catchable punch "uiya" - sidesweep attack

7:13 Holy fuck, 20 years I've been playing this game and I never knew you could grab that particular beam. It just never occurred to me. Also I consider this the hardest boss in the game to beat damageless. 100% Mischief Makers and any% Mischief Makers are two different games.

It's a damn shame knowing this game will never be re-released, due to the bizarre control scheme (unless it was somehow remade with an updated control scheme), or maybe a N64 emulator mod that does such. OP, what's your control set-up?

I could see it working by mapping the dashes onto the face buttons while jump and grab can be on the shoulder buttons. It'd take some getting use to but I think it'll work.

The only thing I don't like about the voices here is that all bosses sound "the same", I mean you can hear the difference but they don't have the same charismatic feeling when they talk like the english version of Lunar, the way he laughs and so on. Catch my drift?

i totally agree there is a difference on sounding good and sounding iconic, here like.. Lunar he has like a good voice but is pretty much ''meh'' yet in english version he sounds Lunatic x'D goes well with his attitude and how violent he is, donkey ko-aah! i mean Tarus!* sounds good in both e ue and Merco well.. same as Lunar a good but meh voice while in english he has a charm in his tone especially when you hit him aawh♥

Is it just me or are the Japanese names for the beasts so much more fucking awesome than the English ones. If I'm hearing it correctly... it sounds like Cerberus a is "GodStriker" and Pheonix g is "Sentinel". I cannot make out what Sasquatch b is, can anyone please help me? I'm 34 years old but feel like im 13 again hearing this for the first time! I NEED to know!!!!
