Great video and when you started to discuss how difficult it was to respond to folks I chuckled because I saw you had 25k subs now so "No kidding", I am so glad you've been successful because you've been able to help so many of us. I guess you've convinced me to by the FS Control app, yesterday I finally coughed up to purchase X-camera. FYI I just bought REP 58 for Laminar's B58 which will save the cost of Carenado's which I bought for XP 10.Had they given us a discount on XP11 AC I would have done that but this was a good compromise. I worked at KMSL for 5 years pushing these 340's in and out. They are workhorses but some of them quite frankly were a pain the #*&. Nothing like having to sit until 3 a.m. for maintenance to drive from Memphis for the same thing that was broke the week before. Don't get me wrong. I loved them and miss them. Eventually after Delta bought Northwest Airlink and we became Regional Elite they repainted them in the new Delta colors. New paint same problems. Took pics with the crew and plane on the last flight back to MEM when we switched to CRJ's. A couple of months later I was wishing we had the Saab's back lol. I know some got sold to Silver Airways and some went to an airline in China I heard. Great video. Nice tribute to this plane.

There are several that make videos about planes, simulators and software but you are one of my favorites for sure. I bought this plane based off of your review but after going through several videos first. All of them were good reviews but you went straight to the point. Your videos are the easiest to follow and seemed like they were planned in advance. A great deal of content on this site has a lot of people having too many distractions, getting sidetracked or saying "uuuhhh....ummmmm" quite a lot. Seriously. Definitely subscribed.

wow this is pretty accurate. The only issue i saw was (It might just be the animation) but all the pneumatics must be off before start . And you want to avoid doing hot starts whenever possible XD The start up sequence for us is -Ignitors: Both OFF - Condtion levers- Cuttoff POS -Hold igntion switch till 1800 engine rpm then push condtion lever in start and then ignitor- normal.

Future reference you hit the squawk ID and not RA/TA when you attempted to engage the Transponder. Also you might want to use the roll feature as opposed to HDG mode and at 400 AGL retract the flaps and heading mode on course or at least in that initial turn. It seems you never had the full coupled approach and the inbound course was off by several degrees to Rwy 01. The boys at Leading Edge do make a wonderful product that is easy to love and use without a great deal of effort. Thanks for sharing and as usual superb video production value.

Got the answer. This scenery (KILM) does not work if installed as instructed to in the file itself. There are two folders in this scenery and they CANNOT be nested under a main folder. Both MUST be in their own root folder under Custom Scenery to work. Once that's done all is as is in this video.

Great video. I think about buying this beauty and not the TBM900 cause I don´t like the G1000 cockpits. I have question: Can you fly with the Saab and default GPS online on VATSIM an IFR flight? I see only Boeings and Airbus fliying. They have FMC and can react to the order from ATC, how to do with a Saab or similar?

It's incredible how realistic you have XP looking at the moment. Two questions though, no ground shadows for the 340A? and what is up with the GNS530 panel textures being stretched incorrectly over the 3d buttons? Apart from that, a flawless and exciting looking aircraft that we have all been waiting a long time for an update for! Thank you Q8!

Thank you for your kind words. Re the ground shadows, I think it is just the time of day and the formation of clouds above the airport area. The the G530 does not look pretty good I agree, but hopefully this will be fixed in a later update (v2).

Watching this and realize Carenado and LES produced beautiful models. I prefer Carenado as it flies like an aircraft and is not as on rails like LES. On the other hand I'd rather have the regular Garmin from X-plane instead of paying for the GTN if I fly the Carenado. Also, just a personal note, I prefer Carenado textures. Then again, if I am not mistaken LES is a 340A and Carenado a 340B thus no cargo version. I would very much enjoy an ATR which is completely modeled in X-Plane.

The LES is for more serious flight simmers who want the realism and immersion factor. The Carenado is merely a fun aircraft to fly for the casual simmer where a lot more margin of error is allowed. The sounds of the engines and hydraulics are nothing like the real aircraft and the colour of the interior cockpit is way off compared to the real thing. The LES wins hands down on all that.

@@Stringbean421 I beg to differ. I flew several times the 340 and it's easy to see the cockpit as you get on or off board. Having both of them in my X-Plane hangar I barely notice any difference in how you operate it. Flight model is a moot point without a real 340 pilot commenting for what it is. I prefer Carenado simply because is more challenging to fly than LES. Maybe the real 340 is really easy to fly, I don't know that and as you point out in the case of LES, it is more immersive in my view. To each it's own I guess.

Nick Icarus Hey Nick, I am no longer using Soft clouds because it has some issues in the current Beta of XP11. I am back to using the Unique HD clouds but using sky colors that come with the latest version of Soft Clouds.

Haha watching you battle the CTOT set at 70%.Also climb prop should be 1230 rpm and then set throttle to maintain EGT under 930. Start the left engine first and then disconnect GPU.
