@@Icey-steel Generally no, the fps impact is minimal. There might be some more RAM or VRAM used by HD meshes and Ortho4XP though.

As a X Plane user and real world Corporate Jet Captain, I have found this to be a good and useful video. The Production quality is among the best of the high traffic contributors I've viewed. One thing that is usually very important is the frame impact on these and all downloads. I noticed you mentioned impact on a couple of these add-ons and by not mentioning all of them I would think (hopefully) that the others impact is small to none. I will be back to see what insights and products you will bring us in the future as well as check out your previous content. While I was aware of about 95% of these marvelous works, it is good to see how we can improve our hobby and in some cases our livelihood. Thank you for your sharing your knowledge. In the future I will be including some new guides on my KZbin page. They are "How to be a better Pilot" and the "15 Minute guide to" series. Depending on your desires the Better Pilot series will help you to add skills and tips useful even if all you want is casual light sim experience. Thanks a lot. You're right, only X-Europe as well as the HD and (mainly) UHD Meshes may have a significant impact on performance. All others have a negligible or even no impact on frames at all. I don't like too much that you advertise your channel here but okay. Cheers

Hervorragendes Videeo. Ich komme von P3D mit allen Top-Addons und wollte jetzt mal X-Plane probieren. Habe mal die Demo installiert und die Zibo 737-800. Ok, die Defaultgrafik von X-Plane ist eher traurig, aber kann man ja aufhübschen. Was mich wirklich fasziniert hat, ist die Flugphsysik. Es fühlt sich einfach geil an, die 737 von Hand zu fliegen. Nicht wie auf Schienen, sondern schön dynamisch. Das ist wirklich die Stärke von X-Plane.

Best collection of addons for realism I think I've seen so far, I really like your selections, even compared to the recommendations of other professionals! I'm curious about the system requirements for the ones that require a beefy system, are you able to add notes in the description if any of them require dual video cards, Titans / Radeon VII / 2080 Ti cards etc, more than 8GB VRAM, overclocked CPU, more than 32 GB DDR RAM, Terabytes of storage and that kind of thing? I just built a system with 1x RTX 2070 Super, a Ryzen 5 3600X and 32GB PC 3200. I laughed that your first pick was an addon fixing the power lines, I'm with you, I think the default power lines are one of the worst things in default scenery. I'm installing that one (and many others) as soon as I get home. xD

Hi and thanks for the comment. I have an Intel Core i5-4690K at 4.4 GHz, 16GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 970 with 4GB VRAM. I'm already struggling with these specs sometimes when using X-Europe for example, as my RAM isn't sufficient in dense areas, 24 or 32 GB RAM are necessary there. Also 6GB VRAM or more are recommendable for XP11 in general.

Upgrading is a never-ending cycle, I am lucky to have been able to build a system with these parts right now, but tomorrow someone else will have something better. I hadn't upgraded for a long time, so I wanted to future-proof a bit and it sounds like what I decided to get should work. Cheers sir, and I really appreciate such good information! I think the main thing I can do which should help is to make sure my CPU can boost up to 4.4 GHz. I just finished my new system and set up the software last night, and haven't worked with a Ryzen board and CPU before, so I'm not sure whether it's boosting higher than stock speed at all yet. :)

Yes it's amazing how much amazing freeware there is available for X-Plane, in FSX and P3D you have to pay for everything lol. That's also why I didn't retire FSX yet, too much money put into it. I'm eager to see if anything of that will change with the new MS Flight Simulator :) Cheers

Thanks for this video. I had never seen the powerline or roads & rails enhancements and will definitely try them. However, I had previously tried xEurope2; I use ORBX True Earth Great Britain and xEurope2 put trees in the middle of motorways (I'm sure I had it listed in the correct place in the scenery_packs.ini file). Also, if I'm not mistaken, it placed buildings on a road around 2:25 in your video. I'm not implying it's bad (what I have seen makes a lot of Europe much more beautiful) but wanted to point out some potential problems when using it. Vielen Dank fürs Video nochmal.

Thank you for this movie. You showed me some addons that I did not know about. The only thing I would change is: "Better Lights". I use "TKLightMod" from 2018 by Tom Knudsen (the last one is in my opinion it's too bright and eats very FPS) - is to be found and downloaded from X-Plane Forum (XP11 General discussion / thread: Night Lighting - page 8 discussion - file Light3.zip). I recommend checking. Together with "Extended Night Lighting", night lighting looks beautiful.

Eine Anmerkung, ich komme von P3D (und davor) und kenne die Regel: je mehr Addons, desto höher das Risiko mit "Zicken", also dass es CTD, etc. gibt. Ist dieses Risiko ebenso hoch bei XP?

Vielen Dank Henning. Meiner Meinung nach macht XP11 auch mit diesen Addons deutlich weniger Zicken als die "älteren" Flusis. Ich fliege mit all diesen Addons und habe absolut keine Probleme. Das liegt auch am deutlich leichteren "Dateiaufbau" von X-Plane, viele dieser Mods ersetzen zum Beispiel nur eine Bild- oder Textdatei. Das einzige was passieren kann sind Kompatibilitätsprobleme in den XP11 Betas, da der Flusi ständig weiterentwickelt wird (dann sind es aber eher Probleme mit komplexen Addon-Flugzeugen). Grüße

Kind of new to X-Plane, and only needs the most essential addons that makes the sim more realistic (but not overwhelming with settings etc). So far I have got Headshake and Airport Enviroment HD. Is this enough (for a beginner?). Anything else you just think i MUST use (again - as a beginner). Thank you!
