The whole reason i am switching from developer/support role to a QA role is because programming isn't just for me I mean i can write code read and understand code but I'm not really good at it i am simply unable to crack coding tests despite putting a lot of hours into leetcode and stuff That's why im trying to get into QA

I've been stuyding for a while for being a QA, I'm doing manual tests in some sites to know more about the process, I'm also improving my english to have better opportunities in my country or abroad. Now I'm trying to improve my knowledge in programing and start to study to a certificate on the fild

Ummm what? Most QA jobs I see want Java and selenium. What is this guy talking about? Truth: it depends on your region and the tech stack prevalent in that region. Here in the USA, especially in Virginia most companies want these things: Java, selenium, cucumber, api testing, familiarity with CI/CD and other devOps tools. Don’t get me wrong, I see lots of cypress and JS, but this guy is mistaken about the value of learning Java for your *first* QA job. Learn both if you can to maximize your options, start with one and learn how to automate in the other.
@Codemify5 ай бұрын
Absolutely, the more you learn the better! I think this guy taught hundreds if not thousands of students already and might have an idea of what he is talking about :)

if someone changing careers would you recommend data analyst role over QA automation, I have been reading a lot about how QA jobs are declining and how Data space is booming? please advise

Great question! Within last 2 weeks our students got 4 job offers. 50-55$ per hour average. I wouldn’t say only qa jobs are declining and data analyst is increasing. These days market is slower for everyone. But as i can see based on the results of our students, QA market is far away from being dead.

I am currently a product support for a SaaS platform, but a graduate in IT, is there a chance for me to land a job such as Manual automation tester before going QA tester?

Hey John, good Q. Looks like there is a bit of confusion. Manual QA is one thing, but Automation QA is a different thing. Although yes, you can become a QA Engineer generally

@@Codemify Thanks! Would it be better to have some certificates for it (QA tester) before jumping into applications?
@Codemify5 ай бұрын
@@john6283 Mostly it’s not needed. In US we only care about knowledge and experience. As Elon said: if you code well after high school, I’ll rather hire you than a guy with degree but worse coding skills

@@Codemify that's cool, mostly here in PH needs some certificate and 2-3 exp for that, haha they are not living in the same quote as Elon does.
