John the Baptist didn't need to be baptized because he came to prepare the way for Jesus that way is this baptism he was the first to baptise the people, before him there was no order of baptism, so Jesus honoured his ministry by taking baptism by him. John himself said that he baptised the people for repentance, but Jesus would give baptism with Holy Spirit and fire. That we can see in the Gospels Matthew ch 3 and Luke ch 3.
