so now that I’ve looked at this particular video, you guys are basically saying to the people that have a hard time getting interviews or getting hired that they need to increase their skill set. Initially doing research a lot of people are not told that they need to increase their skill set before choosing manual QA. Because, Careerist is telling people you can get a job with just the basic knowledge of manual QA and following their coaching process; but now after watching your video here, you’re basically saying we need to increase our skill set and learn automation to get some hits on your resume ? Do you see how this can be frustrating to someone transitioning from a different profession???

Yeah understand 100% how it could be frustrating. It’s just as the field becomes more saturated, the bar raises a little because companies have more options to choose from. You can still get hired as a Manual QA but it just may take longer, adding skills to your skillset will help you stand out faster and long term I would suggest everyone to learn coding basics and automation. As for the careerist part,I used to consult with them as an instructor, but no longer do. They still sponsor some of my videos, I will state in that video that they’d sponsor it so I’m 100% transparent. I know they used to have money back guarantees for people getting hired but don’t know if they still do. This video wasn’t meant to discourage anyone, actually the opposite. It’s possible to enter the field and do well but it’s just takes some hard work and possibly some sacrifices. I do know many people get mislead by sales people so making a video with people like @techcoachralph where we care more about helping people instead of just telling people what they want to hear to get their credit card is beneficial for the community.
