Fun fact: After WW2 britain banned this song in India. The day India got independence, one of the first things the government did was unban this song. It is now the quick march of the Indian Army today.

Another marching song that I think will be increasingly popular these days in the Western world, has a section that translates "For crying gave no-one their freedom, but he who fights stands to win a world". (Like if you know which song I'm referring to...)

@Deus Vult PX there are no racial classifications in India even though there are different races within the country he was Bengali but that's like saying an American being a Texan cause he was from Bengal state of India I look white but I still do not know what race I would be I just tell people I'm a Kashmiri Brahmin and neither of them are racial classifications but they get why I'm light cause from that part and sect of Hinduism are generally lighter than others.

aribam athoiba This song was originally on fascistball IV, a right wing KZbin channel full of fascist and national socialist (Nazi) songs. The song is from the Indian National Army, a group of India independence fighters that sided with Nazi germany and japan during ww2. The joke is the symbol of nazism is the swastika, and it is also the symbol for Hinduism and Indians. This comment was on the original video as well. Makes sense?

They used to march on this song and they were fighting alongside japanese troops to free India from britain during the world war 2. The man in the picture is one of most famous leaders of India netaji Subhash Chandra bose. I'm Indian myself, and I am happy that the Indians and other Commonwealth troops were able to keep the IJA out of India, so that at least we did not have to deal with the horrors that the rest of Asia faced. Japanese war crimes were far worse than whatever the British did. And at least there was *some* good to British rule in India. Bose wanted India to side with Japan and would have ended India with it. Gandhi never picked sides, he was neutral to both, and simply asked the British to leave. Respect him, a man who deserves it.
